Photographer’s Note
I saw this sticker placed on a steel pole in the Temple Bar area today when I was out & about. I have no idea what the purpose of it is, although there are a number of other posters & there's a website www.theartofasbestos.com which has more details (and examples). I'll post another one as a workshop.
And if you can't read this one it says:
LOST: Kettle Of Fish. It's not mine but a friend's & he wants it back. If you find it, and it's not your kettle of fish please email me at:...
Different Kettle of Fish - an expression in the English langauge meaning 'that's something else entirely'.
Macro focusing on the camera, converted to B&W. Not cropped, just resized.

I've been waiting for a new post from you. Very funny poster, although our non English-speaking friends might miss the point. You are also doing your bit to promote their website too. Well spotted.

Hi Peter,
As Kath says, you spotted this astutely and the result is rather funny, but also an interesting cultural statement. I like the graphism, with the B&W format most apropos. A humorous and interesting street scene, Peter. Well captured.

Hi Peter.
In some way I think that I prefer the WS. I can read it in a better way because here the whites are a bit overexposed.
Anyway, fun idea.

Hi Peter,
I get the idea behind the shot but the image doesn't work for me. I think it's because the pole hides too much of the background and positionally it's neither here nor there. I prefer the WS because the pole's to one side and also the text is clearer. If it's any consolation, which it probably isn't, my wife, Janice, is an artist and loves it! Sorry mate, perhaps my artistic side is not in the zone today? I like the note and I'd love to hear the French translation of 'a kettle of fish!'
Regards
Stephen

Hi Peter... it's me...
not really sure what it means, but I have a strong immagination... ( Y ) Nice also the french translation, like suggested by Stephen. For the pic... I would only position the pole straight to one side, leaving some more of the blured background, making the pic even more graphical (to me ;))))))
Have a nice day,
Tomi
