Photographer’s Note
The Skellig Islands, stand aloof in the Atlantic Ocean some 12 km southwest of Valentia Island, County Kerry. From any angle, or from any vantage point on the nearby Ring of Kerry, they are spectacular pinnacles, which have magnetised viewers throughout all history – and beyond.
A wisp of cloud often adorning the peaks of these pinnacles creates a volcanic impression! But there is nothing volcanic about these Skelligs rocks; they are created of the same 350–million-year-old Devonian Sandstone that runs right through the backbone of Kerry - from the county’s south-western headlands to the shores of Killarney's lakes.

Stunning shot! The shapes of these rocks is indeed mesmerizing, and I really like the telephoto view of this, which makes the pinnacles all seem close together and helps bring out the similarities in the shapes. Excellent work!

Excellent point de vue et magnifiques rochers, j'aimerais être là pour voir çà.
J'aime beaucoup aussi l'arrière-plan brumeux avec le bateau.

Interesting place. Good photo except that I would cropp out sky over island peaks in background. Mist around sailbot and islands gives touch of mysteri to the photo.

Lovely picture, though the boat and the horizon are too centered. But it's a very nice evocative picture.

Hi Stephen,
The dark tops of the rocks in foreground care for a nice contrast to the gray and blue background, also the little bit misty between the rocks give a nice atmosphere. Very well done! Thanks for sharing.
Have a nice weekend,
John.

I like your square land/seascapes. Good crop.
I guess sharpness is not optimal in this one.

Hi Stephen,
One of those pictures where haze doesn't matter but adds something extra to it. Really sharp rocks both on the background islands and foreground. The boat and splash of wave are nice details too.
