[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Polnabrone Dolmen is located in the Burren region in the western Ireland. The land is full of contradictions. It looks very harsh, sometimes even bears some resemblance to the moon. The surface is full of rocks and at first sight it seems nothing can grow there. When the chief of Cromwell's army entered the area in 1600s, he wrote a message to his principal describing the Burren:
'It is a country where there is not water enough to drown a man, wood enough to hang one, nor earth enough to bury him'
Well, nice remarks, aren't they?:-)
the Burren, however harsh it looks, is has very fertile soil. It's unbelievable, but plants from almost all the world's regions grow there, thanks to its island location and winds.

In the picture there's one of the Burren's dolmens. They are believed to be older than Stonhenge.

Witaj Kris,
Myślę, że tylko w technice B&W można oddać potęgę emocji związanych z tym miejscem. Dodatkowo wzmocniłeś wymowę tego kadru przez wybór perspektywy. Lubię takie kontrasty!
Pozdrawiam,
Jerzy

Witam.
Bardzo ciekawy obiekt, dobrze wyglądający w cz/b.
Ciekawy kadr i kompozyja.
Podejrzewam że w kolorze też miałoby swój klimacik.
Pozdrawiam, Marek.

witaj

bardzo dobra perspektywa, świetnie prowadzi wzrok ku wnętrzu zdjęcia, ciekawa tonacja, podoba się cąłość, pozdrawiam, rafal

Hi Kris, Iv been here and I must say that is a fantastic capture. I wonder if that rope still surrounds this dolmen, have you cloned it out as I did. Anyhow great low POV on this and the B&W works very well. Very nice work.

It's a wonderful photo Kris, I like the choice of B&W which adds atmosphere. I particularly like your POV and composition, shooting from a lown angle to include the rocks on the floor and placing the dolmen off-centre.

Hi Kris!
I like the PoV of your photos that give strenght to the image. Also the choice of B&W it's appropriate (also probably due of the background colour of the sky).
Well done.
A smile.

Bardzo lubie taka wysmakowana prostote, duzy ladunek dramatyzmu ma to zdjecie. Szkoda, ze takie duze i nie miesci mi sie na monitorze, musialem skopiowac i ogladac poza TE.

The choice to do it in black and white adds to the enigma of the monument.

nice done,
Chico

Bonjour Kris
Beautiful composition: You took great care centering the "abribus" on a sweet spot, addind to magesty of this ancient document.
B&w helps reporting to times gone by.
Cheers.

This shot really works in B&W. A nice composition and your write up was very useful as I did not know these types of structures existed in Ireland as well.
