Photographer’s Note
I took this picture with my digital camera, a Sony DSCP200 which I'm slowly getting to grips with.
It ws a stunning day - sun shining brightly. Skerries has a number of old fishing boats that are pretty much nautical ruins, and they are just abandoned at the fishing pier in this small village. I went there that day specifically to take pictures of the boat, but I thought, when I saw this man sitting beside one of the boats, that it would make an interesting picture. I also felt it would be more appropriate in black and white.

This is agood composition and the man looking at the boat tells a story and sets the mind to ewonder about the possible relationship between the two.
The rope from the rigth to the man and the boat slightly tilted to the left give the impression that the boat wants to speak with the man.
Nice textures and a lovely photo. black and white a good choice

Beautiful photo. Skerries is a lovely little fishing port. Some real characters around the area, and some who just hang around the pier. Very calm photo. I really like it, and the B&W composition is great.
