Photographer’s Note

One more pic of the Skellig island...which fascinate me...their shape is so wild and rough in the middle of the ocean and their history is mysterious...you can read about it under my other picture called Irish Avalon ... Great...thanks to Kolyamour and Dabri for explaining me the referencing... ;-)

Yes, worth another posting, and I prefer the framing here. The subtley different lighting here from you previous shot makes me think a montage, all with slightly different light, would make an interesting experiment. BTW I had to look through your archive to find the other, you located it differently, as 'Skellig Island'.

Hallo Léonie. Tolles Foto, sieht fast aus wie eine Illustration aus einem Märchen- oder Sagenbuch. Die Blautöne (meine Lieblingsfarbe) sind sehr schön, und die aus dem Wasser ragenden Silhouetten sehen leicht mysteriös aus - insbesondere unter dem speziellen Lichtkegel, der durch die Wolken durchbricht. Das Foto ist auch ein gutes Beispiel, dass nicht jede Komposition um jeden Preis "off-centered" oder in Dritteln aufgebaut sein muss, denn Dein Bildaufbau funktioniert wunderbar so wie er hier zu sehen ist.

cependant, peut etre aurais-je cropé un peu le bas pour sortirla bande de terre...je vais essayer un ws si tu me le permets..

Good grief Leonie that is some ridiculously good lighting! The textures in the sky are truly incredible. I love the blue tone as well. Good control of your contrast and exposure too. Nice shooting!

Ca penche bien sur mais l'image est remarquable avec ce petit rayon de soleil sur cette ile , une photo prise au bon moment. ( tu as aucun logiciel pour la retouche ? au moins pour le recadrage , le recadrage ce n'est pas tres grave tout le monde le fait avec PS ) Bien vu .

Une magnifique profondeur avec de superbes couleurs et une excellent lumière.
J'adore ces rayons qui viennent s'écraser sur l'eau.
J'aurais peut-être pas cadré le bas de la photo, come dans les WS, mais ca n'enlève rien à ta superbe photo.

Leonie, this is so nice to see the Skelligs this way. The beam of light is magical and it's good to see a part of Ireland not represented by the irresistable green we all love (perhaps too much). Very nicely done.

arf, décidément tu fais fort en ce moment ! Cette photo est superbe, elle semble presque irréelle (tu sais ce genre d'image de synthèse d'un monde épuré aux couleurs magnifiques)... Très joli, j'aime beaucoup. À ta place j'aurais peut être recadré un tout petit peu pour ne pas avoir la partie noire en bas au premier plan, et se "rapprocher" un peu des îles. Enfin, bravo !

Like your title indicates already, indeed an incredible blue view under a cloudy sky, the sunbeams on those islands are the eye-puller here.

Fantastic photo. I like everything about it. It looks indeed very mysterious. The blue colours and the light through the clouds are great. The only thing that could have been different is the horizon, because it is falling a bit too the right.

Thank you for your kind comment. I looked at your photos, and I must say you are a great photographer. I picked this one as a favorite, but many are just stunning. You have a great eye. I have worked with great professional shooters in the past so I know a little bit about it. I'm just a hobbiest myself, and started shooting more than holiday snapshots just recently.

Je découvre ton portefolio. Et cette photo me subjugue. Extraordinnaires teintes. Je préfère cette version de PP que sur l'autre vue nommée "Irish Avalon". Il reste juste le petit problème d'horizon. Mais on va pas en faire un plat !

I admire you didn't crop the image on the bottom part as is usual and instead left the image as is. So, instead we are drown to be in the air, we stay ahere you were and see the perfect scenery of the islands in the spotlight. Also, the land in the front gives a natural frame to this photo.

I like this better than the Irish Avalon for the composition of the islands - more spread out. The light is fantastic and the blue colours. The islands look unreal and remind me more of the Galapagos than Ireland - I have seen these a couple of times on TE and need to get there to see them. As a suggestion, I find the dark land in the foreground distracting and think a landscape crop around the islands would look even better
