Photographer’s Note

An evening in the Ring of Kerry...when the sun goes down on the irish west coast you can find the most amazing light plays...colours are so strong that even the camera cannot really catch it right (at least not mine... :-P ) That way these green pastures were really glowing neon green...hope you enjoy it...although I can only really advice you a trip to this reagion to live it yourself..it's so worth it!

Tres jolie ta photo, les couleurs sont superbes surtout l'eau me sidere, on dirait que c'est une longue exposition, pourtant je pense pas? as tu fais un PP en 2 partie ciel+mer et la cote ? en tout cas c'est super ces degrades de couleurs.

A picture full of lines everywhere.
The sea is so calm and beautiful, there's a good special light indeed.
I like the green "carpets" between the stone-walls and that tiny house is a great detail, nice Ireland again, Léonie !

Hi Leonie,

The colours are really great, even if you think your camera didn't catch them ! The water is really tremendous ! I like it, even if the horizon is slightly tilted to the right :o)

I like your composition, with the sunny foreground and then all the shadows upon the green fields.

Hi Leonie,
I love the different bands of colour, the shape of the fields and the play of light on the water, really good and interesting composition.
You may find a polariser helps you achieve the desired colour? sometimes it can help.
Is there something a bit weird about the line between the green hill and the sea?

Beatiful light and a lovely sharp shot from the Kodak. To answer David's point, maybe you've slightly over sharpened, but not a serious problem. To quibble a bit more, you also got a bout 1 degree tilt clockwise.

Guardando più attentamente, non ricordo però di avere mai visto un mare così liscio.

A slight tilt on the horizon line (you were already told, I bet ;-) but this is not what attracts the look first... What a light !!! These green pastures, so enlighted, make such a contrast with the uniformity of the blue sea.. Beautiful indeed.

When I clicked on this shot I screamed, "wow!" It's true! The clarity and colors here are so good its hard to believe. The green fields are fantastic as is the depth. Glow for a title couldn't be anymore appropriate!

I find this picture beautiful. The colors are brilliantly brought out. You do a great job of giving a sense of infinite expanse with the water in the back. I can get a good sense of the expanse and wonder of this place.

I enjoy the calm atmosphere in this picuture. The lighting is soft and make this picture beatiful. The small house also add a sense of scale to this picture.

Hi Leonie,
I agree with all the pervious comments it’s a very special scenery and great horizon with the little with house.
but there is something disturbing here too
when using Neat-image (or other PP program) you have to be very careful not to try to over sharpen the image
in this shot something did go wrong

Quel bel endroit... Une très jolie prise de vue, sous une lumière parfaite. J'aime beaucoup ce ciel chargé et la brume au loin. Belle couleurs. Bon ça penche un peu à droite mais c'est un détail au regard du reste. Bravo !

Peut-être que la ligne d'horizon penche vers la droite.

Avec un peu de retard à cause des intempestifs délestages d'électricité en Corse depuis une semaine, je découvre tes dernières photos.
Elles sont super ! Les paysages sont adorables. Quant aux couleurs, elles sont exquises. J'adore, j'en redemande. ;-)

Leonie,
Just a beautiful place and the colours especially on the fields are great and natural. I beleive however you should have tried to use PP tools with more caution. The sea is too blank, and the border to the land is too sharp, but its good that you have started to experiment - I think you will gain from this in future pictures.

My compliments. This is a very good picture. The different contrasts: The clouds - the smooth sea - the patchwork of the meadows - the brown field in front.

An amazing landscape! The different layers of colors and the kind of zigzag reading made by the lines is excellent. Also great contrasts of textures. I just find the contrasts / darkness a bit strong in the grass fields, but it may be from my screen.

Hi Leonie, I meant to write something about your Ireland pictures for a long time, but somehow.......well, here I am.
I do not want to read all the other crits, and I think everything has been said, so I can't be original in any way.
I like the way you bring Ireland to TE, the pictures are VERY attractive (And so is the country), and it's obvious that you do it with a lot of love for Ireland. I have been there a couple of times, and I love the country and the people.
I think I have the same picture, as this one, last May we were in a cottage on the ring of Kerry, overlooking Ballinskelligs Bay, just a couple of kilometers out of Waterville. A beautiful week!

I think you tend to oversharpen your pictures, if I look at the whitish lines along the edges.

This is truly an amazing scenery, simple in a sense that there are only 3 tones of color here, but uniquely rich in composition. that contrast between each layer is extremely good.

what a picture! The composition first leads they eye to the house on the hill, then onto the sea and sky. Love the way the water shows the shadow of the clouds. Superb colours!

Hie Leonie, soft color especially the sea,with the surreal cloudworks. In contrast with the green patchwork on the hillside.Somehow the brown patch running across the bottom seems to add something to this scene.
