This shot, taken on the Connemara coastline, was snatched quickly during a windy rain squall. The holiday house was closed up and deserted but what a marvelous spot for a few days by the sea.

love this! So much amazing texture and windswept beauty here. An inspired POV and perfect DOF make this not just enticing but so calmingly beautiful. Glorious imagery presented exquisitely.
Have a great week - B.

The flattened grass justify your choice of title. Very simple but beautiful composition. The round stones are perfect to frame the photo as well as create FG interest. The house in the distance acts as a nice focal point. The bright blue sky with those floating white clouds has something magical in it. Beautiful landscape shot once again. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Rosemary. Looks like a special place, ideal for a writer or artist where to spend some quiet time. The composition is exceptional with its impeccable DOF, the textures of the stone, the wonderful light and colours and a sense of space despite the barbed wire. My compliments. Klaudio.

Another nice capture from Clifden.
Good pov and layout.
The Stones in foreground adds a nice effect to your compo.. Hard but somehow soft.
TFS and best regards

the place looks beautiful and You knew exactly how to present and bring out its beauty and uniqueness.
I like the way you composed the scene.Great idea with the stones in the FG and the fence on the right.
Other thing, which is certainly worth to mention is the quality of the image.Sharpness, clarity are superb!
And in end I´d like to mention your perfect PP work, which makes the graphical effect of the image so captivating and strong.
Have a nice day

Well composed with this Fg with stones and alos with the fence on the right side, perfect to give depth at your view, light is very well captured.
williewhistler (12082) 2014-03-03 4:51
you have composed a very attractive shot here with the granite boulders in the FG making a fine intoduction to the scene, even the barbed wire fence plays its part, whilst the attractive building is well placed in the frame.
Very pleasing colours and lovely clear details, altogether a fine interpretation of the location.
Kind regards Les.

Hi Rosemary, Great view of this beautiful Irish landscape, very well composed and captured by a great pov in this great and beautiful photography. Interesting picture with very good sharpness, depth, pretty light, color and quality. A great job well done, congratulations. Thanks for sharing this beautiful work.
Good evening and happy start to the week.
Best wishes from southern Spain.

All about the texture :) There is so much of it un this, the granite feel of the rocks, the soft sheen of the grass, the jagged barbs of the wire, all combine into a beautiful scene. Very rugged and seeming very remote. Even though that looks like a new house, it still has the feel of the old irish houses in these desolate places. The clouds seem to be pouring into the scene as if just released from a bottle!
As always, a beauty of a capture.
P.S. I thought I had mentioned somewhere about Oracle, but I cant remember where, so at risk of going mad....I did leave ORacle, the job was not for me at all. Too much travelling in city traffic, so I am lucky to have gone back to my previous job :) It does involve a little travel around Ireland, but when I have my camera in my bag, there is always time to stop at the odd castle or two :)

I like very much this creative composition that not only describes the scenery but also seems to introduce it through a rich story of textures and colours. All the elements portrayed are stunningly natural and vivid, the dynamism of your composition has even enhanced our perception of the wind sweeping the landscape. The stones in the foreground make a great framing, they are enticing to touch and climb over in order to proceed to the house. I also like how each element is highlighted according to their colours and character. The slice of seascape is interesting and the atmosphere is invigorating. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

I don't really feel the wind here, but I know it was there. I have strong memories of a very tough ride on a rented bike across the moors heading back to Clifden with a strong wind blowing straight into my face. At least for a moment you had great weather and you found a very good spot for this composition, with the wall along the bottom and the fence cutting across the field. I like the well saturated colours and the fine patterns of the rocks.
Kamilutka (8085) 2014-03-03 13:18
now this is the Ireland which I like the most with wind swept grass, moody colors and lonely houses in the middle of nowhere. You chose super POV to add some interest to the scene by placing these big stones in the foreground. The light was a little bit sparse but it only highlights the character of the image. Great colors and contrast, perfect sharpness.
carlo62 (26816) 2014-03-03 14:20
ACL1978 (7463) 2014-03-03 16:23
Hi Rosemary - this shot just screams Ireland, doesn't it? The worn rocks in FG, the bent grass, the small stone house, all on a rocky shore... beautiful depiction that seems to go on forever through the wide angle you used here. The fence in particular seems to simply vanish over the horizon... thanks.
photoray (9835) 2014-03-03 16:29
Interesting Irish seashore scene with the foreground rock wall, wind blown grasses, then rock house overlooking the sea.
federico (2167) 2014-03-03 16:41
hi rosemary, very well composed picture, I like the 2 lines given by the fence and the stones, the holiday house make an interesting subject too

Spectacular pov in lovely colors and textures. I like the dynamic feeling from this image, I'm sure the wind is the king there.
Have a nice day.

A beautiful picture !
Nice blue cloudy sky as one layer, the house and its greenery as the second and the wall of stones as the third
With a nice light and saturated colors without excess
Bravo, have a nice evening

What a wonderful picture!
Everything here pleases me a lot!
Sharpness, exposure, colors, horizontal format, contrasts, dof, chosen pov and composition are all excellent photo qualities!
Still, talking about the composition, I love the presence and the way you placed in the frame those stones of the lower fg and the fence on the right side of this image!
TFS - congrats,
dekanski (2180) 2014-03-04 16:03
nicely arranged, good lighting, interesting POV. The only thing I dislike is excessive sharpness (in particular - sea and wires), as it is too post-processed!
rychem (18819) 2014-03-04 21:06
This is an idyll, the atmosphere is so peaceful, beautiful view of an austere landscape, great composition
emka (72206) 2014-03-04 23:39
hello Rosemary, This is a size that I like best. No scrolling, just the full screen and visible note.
It looks quite wild landscape in spite of this lone stone house. The grasses are marvelous. What a beauty. delightful colours.

the wind swept grass of Ireland, gotta love that! :)
these large round stones really set the scene well don't they. they add a nice rough texture too.
love the barbed wire on the right, don't see that too often here on TE.
fine looking place by the water, looks windy though :)
picturesque scene, well taken
Silvio1953 (115063) 2014-03-06 11:35

nikkitta (12742) 2014-03-06 15:00
With the title and the leaning grass is almost posible to felt the wind
Great way to present the photo with the curve formed by rocks and the wires at the right
To balanace them, the rustic cottage
Great color management and contrast
Well done, regards
This is the way I imagine this part of England
annjackman (17505) 2014-03-10 3:32
This picture is just how I imagined this coast to be and encourages me to visit the area. Your low viewpoint and wide angle has shown all the important elements such as the dry stone wall, the cottage and the windswept grass. The fence leads my eye towards the rough sea in the distance.
Kind Regards, Ann
