I was impressed by the number of ring buoys I saw around the coast of Ireland. This one was placed near the pontoon at Barleycove beach which featured in my last upload.
They are often subjected to vandalism, which can lead to heavy fines of up to €5000 and/or imprisonment, as a lack of this essential device has been, in the past, the cause of deaths.

Good that you have found one and there might be many around. Over here all will be gone within a fortnight and the message will not help as most of the thieves will be illiterate. Like the colourful natural layers you have captured, the green grass, the thin strip of white cloud and then the blue sky. A very colourful and eye-catching composition, thanks for sharing.

intriguing how these lifesavers have different names in so many countries. This one looks so bright and outstanding in this simple setting. A beautifully simple and yet compelling image with a worthy message too. Like this a lot!
Enjoy your weekend - B.

This is an original choice of motif, but so well chosen! It's extremely colourful and eye-catching with the grassy bank as a nice background and with a perfect inclusion of the sky and the clouds. You also tell us an interesting story which is an integral part of the contribution.

This is very eye-catching with its vibrant colours and pin-sharpness. I like the BG for this ringbuoy as it is interesting with the layers of grass, cloud and sky. Very well seen and taken.
Kind Regards, Ann

This is such a wonderful shot, and once again something we could see everyday, but not like this. The colors are amazing, the red pops out so vibrantly against the green and the striking blue, and it seems the clouds were willing to play that day, as they have too created another lovely layer of color. The angle of the stand the buoy is in makes this even more appealing too!
Thanks as always, best wishes from Ireland :)

An unusual and strange subject with this vivid colors on purpose and the opposition of this with the dune and Nature.
It catches the eye.

This tiny feature snatched from the coast of Ireland tells so much more than of just a "ringbuoy" (I always thought they were called "lifebelts"!) stuck in the sand: we can imagine dangerous seas in this area and also think of dunes, sea grasses and, in good weather, relaxation and play.
And this is a finely taken photograph, the red buoy in its bright yellow frame standing out stunningly against the sand and grasses of the dune, all topped off perfectly with a glorious blue sky.
Good strong composition, fabulous light and colours and excellent details and sharpness throughout.

I am quite surprised by this photo: as far as I remember this is one of the most beautiful beaches in Ireland and you were attracted to the ringbuoy. It reminds me when I invited my colleague from university to go together to a museum for an art exhibition. She was most excited with the alarm facilities (which were not the part of the exhibition).
But indeed this photo is original one and so full of color. You show Ireland in very well saturated colors, the sky is almost purple here.
Great idea, very well done,
CLODO (33878) 2014-02-26 7:51
very simple subject, but the vivid colors make it very interesting.
delpeoples (57266) 2014-03-03 0:37
I love using the vertical frame and this one is particularly well-chosen. The colours are so vivid and the different layers seem stacked one on top of the other. I like the jaunty angle of the buoy and the excellent cloud formations that add to the depth. Thanks for sharing, have a lovely day.
