This is the inside of the central roof of an structure called the Imaginarium.
The Imaginarium featured at the World Street Performers championship in Dublin in Summer 2010, and despite my hoping otherwise every year since has never returned.
It was a strange almost tent like structure, held up by air inflated into its walls, and with many changing colors through its walls, creating a variety of strange color effects from the natural light as you walked around inside.
Once you got inside, there were many corridors to explore and two huge central rooms with cushions where up 30 people could sit down and relax and take in the strange atmosphere of this unusual place, erected in Merrion Square in the heart of the city for only a couple of days.
This was the roof over the very centre of the structure, where most people sat around taking pictures of each other in these strange surroundings.
Due to the walls being made of plastic (like a gigantic bouncy castle) the temperature inside was incredible in the summer sun. The bottled water stand conveniently positioned outside did good business that weekend!
Thanks for looking!

This photo is mesmerizing. It reminds me one of those visual puzzles that seems to change when you look at it long enough. The blue color is great. I'm trying to visualize the rest of this structure, and hope you'll show us more of it. It sounds very interesting and unique. I like the details you focused on in this shot.

It would have been interesting to visit this "imaginary" place
Interesting detail and pleasant cool colours

ok buddy, you need to stop using LSD!
what you're actually looking at is a boring flat white cieling, its the LSD thats making it glow blue!
this is pretty cool, looks like a "Blue Hole" rather than a Black Hole in space.
strange indeed, but attractive and an eye catcher!

A very curious roof.
Very impressive picture!

Whaaaaaaat?? I will promptly now go have my head checked to make sure everything is still in place. Is it concaved, convexed, or what...my mind can't figure it out, each time I look at it I see it in a different way! Just brilliant! This is the type of thing that sets a photographer apart in my opinion...when everyone one else is taking pictures of each other or the obvious, you've found something unique and well, a bit perplexing...but that's a very good thing! :)
If for nothing else, the dominant blue color would have had me liking this, but the tight framing to create this visual is outstanding. Love the range of blues with the little patterns of orange to break it up with just the right touch of contrast and design. I feel that if I stare at it long enough it's actually going to start moving like a jellyfish. Whoever named this place definitely had the right idea in mind, so much can be interpreted by our own imaginations. Hope to see more of this place, what a great shot! Have a good day ahead.
Cheers from across the pond,

it´s a picture no one will pass by indifferently.
Beautiful, creative and abstract in its perception!
It´s like we would immersed in our own dreams.
Evocative composition with strong graphics and delightful colors(these different shades of blue are magnificent).
Brilliant shot Noel!
Have a nice day

Love it! Fantastic shot right up my street! Love the shapes, colours, shades and lines. Fantastic!

What a splash of blue! I have to agree with worldcitizen it definitely looks like one of those optical illusions. The more I look at it the more it changes. The centre is changing all the time from concave to convex. Great work Noel.
All the best.

A fabulous shot and the bold design, that canopy has just popped out of the screen and over my head, Noel! A whole new perspective, viewpoint and what wonderful curves as the high contrast you've achieved really brings the brilliant colours out. It is also good to have that amount of quality light there. Good spot as a photo-opportunity, Congrats

this is a brilliant picture, irresistible and delightful, so much so that the description of the subject's function is not so important. It certainly satisfies our curiosity but the charm of the gradient blue tones, the graphical lines and the patterns is strong enough to make us forget about the event that took place under this roof. The filtred light offered a mesmerising glow. I like the fact that you avoided symmetry and gave to the graphism a playful aspect. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,

Being an 'old California Hippie' your Imaginarium vision stimulates the visual senses and certainly a dream charge. Hopefully someone will realize the benefits of artistic events like the Imaginarium and it will return.
Happy trails to you,

Ciao e buon fine settimana

The world can be such an exciting place!
I love this for its colour and its patterns, its composition and colour tones but most of all because it is one of those shots which is an optical illusion; the centre moves from convex to concave! Strange!!
My warm regards,

A stunning abstract art view. Those converging lines make very strong 3D effect together with brightness variations of blue.

What a great word: imaginarium! Almost as good as the photo. When I saw it I immediately thought of the latest works of Mikey in Barcelona. It really is a wonderful image in terms of uniqueness, composition, colour, light regulation and tight framing. It has that almost-abstract quality to it that so many of Juan and Mikey's shots have. Excellent work, the photo is immaculate technically-speaking and beautiful aesthetically-speaking.
Have a lovely evening, bank holiday here yee haaaa!

It should be a nice place to see in Dublin Noel, a spectacle room if I'm right, very original and insolite, I like the patterns and colors, high definition
all the best, regards

Quite a fascinating view; I can't make up my mind that is if the "blue hole" is a duomo seen from below or from above!
You dared something different and it's very attractive!
