Photographer's Note
Johns Lane Church, or to give its full name, the Church of St Augustine and St John is situated in Thomas Street in Central Dublin. It opened in 1874 on the site of St Johns Hospital (founded 1182).
The churches steeple is the highest in Dublin at over 200 feet (61 metres). the steeple was not originally intended to hold bells but a spiral staircase was added later to access and allow the inclusion of bells.
The Bell ringers company of Johns Lane was founded in 1872 and the bells rang for the first time ever on St Patricks day in 1873.
The statues in the niches are the work of James Pearse, and the stained glass is the work of the renowned Harry Clarke studio and Michael Healy. The stained glass in the apse is by Mayer of Munich.
The interior of this church offers a beautiful oasis of calm in what is a very bustling market street, laden with traffic and pedestrians.

Nice angle on this fine Church.
Well suited to B&W to give that scary look.
Like the angry sky behind as it adds to the overall feel.
Great shot.
