Loughcrew Sunset, Co Meath

Same location as last upload except I am standing on the huge Cairn overlooking Co. Meath. Loughcrew Cairn "S" in the foreground is captured as the sun sets over these ancient stones.

Loughcrew is a site of considerable historical importance in Ireland. It is the site of megalithic burial grounds dating back to approximately 3500 and 3300 BC, situated near the summit of Sliabh na Caillí.

Hi Stephen,

Fantastic capture of a sunset. What grabs me is how well exposed this picture is, great light and details in the foreground which is not easy to do in situations like this. Excellent colours and contrast and a very well chosen point of view from which to capture this scene. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Stephen,
An excellent image. The sharpness in the foreground is good but I especially enjoy the softer misty background with those beautiful hues. The darker sky at the top frames the picture very well. All the elements come together very well indeed.

Wonderful image I love the colours so much in this - to my taste off course, you show use that grad like a real pro.
PS -Im off to the UK in May and will be heading to Scotland, what would be your top 5 must do's there,
I am thinking Eilean Donan and Trotternish Ridge, Skye are two I would defo like to see but any hints most welcome indeed.

Clever use of the foreground rocks describing an arc, perfectly anchored in left lower corner. The foreground curve introduces the next circular shape, effectively placed in your composition.

An intriguing landscape of inspiring beauty.
