Photographer’s Note
During my stay in Galway, I did a bus tour to the Cliffs of Moher (a definite must see of which I will add pictures later). I chose a specail type of tour that would allow me to have some time off the bus as well as on. We stoped at a little farm and got a tour around the souronding hills. Our guide was amazing. He wasn't monotoned or scripted. He just spoke of what he knew: his country, and his farm.
He took us up the 'mountain' (I put this in quotations because it was more of a hill compared to Canadian mountians) by the routes the cows use when grazing up there in the winter. At the top he showed us this monument, which I was impressed to learn is older than my entire country. It was placed here nearly 400 years ago, when the British were originally mapping out the Irish coast.
The tour was called "the Barren Guided Walking tour" if anyone else is interested, it was probably one of the highlights of the Ireland part of my trip!
