LES 2 WILDE EN CONVERSATION

Oscar et Eduard Wilde, deux écrivains un Irlandais et un Estonien auraient pu se rencontrer en 1892. Cette sculpture a été un cadeau de la ville de Tartu en Estonie à la ville de Galway en 2004. C'est une réplique de la statue qui se trouve devant le Wilde Pub irlandais à Tartu.

"Oscar Wilde will sit permanently on William Street, Galway, along with the famous Estonian writer, Eduard Wilde, from Saturday the 24th April 2004, as the City of Tartu in Estonia are presenting Galway with a replica of their most famous sculpture ahead of the 'Day of Welcomes' celebration.

The sculpture will be officially unveiled on William Street (outside Matt O'Flaherty's Pharmacy), at 1pm by the Mayor of Galway, Terry O'Flaherty, who will be joined by a host of Estonian dignitaries, including the Ambassador to Ireland, Simmu Tiik.

The sculpture is a replica of the whimsical streetscape image that sits outside the Wilde Irish Pub in Tartu, Estonia. The two Wildes were contemporary Irish and Estonian writers and this sculpture imagines their possible meeting in 1892."

Très, très sympa !
La mise en scène de ces deux acteurs de bronze est parfaite. Comme pour toute bonne discussion qui se respecte, le temps semble être arrêté...
La façade colorée et bien fleurie, made in Irlande, est géniale pour apporter une touche peps à la scène.
Bravo également pour le choix de la citation. Oscar Wilde a décidément le sens de la formule ;o)

Intriguing statue, with a interesting background. What will be the subject of their discussion? I think there is a lot to tell about the changing of the world. F.e. the place of homosexuality in the Western world today.

La composition est très belle et le cadrage excellent aavce le réverbère qui surplombe les deux personnages. J'aime beaucoup la façon dont la double sculture et le réverbère ressortent sur le fond de l'image. Vraiment un travail orginal et efficace.

Hello Jacques,

Etonnante rencontre de deux statues qui semblent réellement discuter ensemble ! Le cadrage n'est pas top car la borne de droite aurait pu être éviter. Difficile de cadrer en pleine ville tout en évitant un maximum d'éléments gênants.

Bonjour Jacques,
ètonnantes ces sculptures dans une ambiance d'un bleu électrique. Le sculpteur a su donner maintien et dignité à ces deux hommes célèbres. Ton angle de prise et la proximité nous font sinon participer, du moins entendre la conversation à batons rompus. Félicitations.

Bonsoir Jacques,
Je me souviens bien de ces deux statues dans cette rue très animée de Galway. Je me suis rendu compte plus tard que je ne les avais même pas prises en photo ... La façade colorée et fleurie (façon Galway) apporte une belle touche de couleur à l'image. Un peu gêné par contre par le poteau en bas à droite. Un manque de netteté également, visible en particulier sur la façade. Mais à 1/10 en main libre, rien d'étonnant, c'est même plutôt étonnamment net ! Mais à mon avis tu avais de la marge pour ouvrir un peu plus, à 5,6 par exemple.

Bonsoir, mon ami Jacques,
une composition amusante et agréable. Les statues en bronze de ces deux écrivains, en bavardant assis dans la rue, et les éléments urbains que nous voyons dans l'arrière-plan, comme le réverbère et les fleurs, donnent un résultat excellent graphique.
Bien captée, c'est une scène sympathique.

Hello Jacques, Interesting scene, very well realised. This is something that I did not know, two wild men from different parts of the world with the the name Wilde. Interesting. Well done an that is rich in colour & detail, I like the contrasting blue & yellow and is that the jeweller inside the shop.

Interesting cultural exchange, II did not know there was another Wilde. Nice monument. I was in tartu several years ago but I haven't seen it.

La composition riche et complete. Le sujet attire la concentration. Les couleurs offrent une atmosphere de "silence de la mer". La note exostive. A comprendre ce que je viens de dire comme le grand compliment pour la realisation, Jacques.

Bonjour Jacques,

The composition of the photograph, the rich colors, the resolution and the note — all are first class. There is enough space on the bench between the two seated writers that tourists must frequently sit there for their photographs. Well conceived and flawless implemented shot.
