Photographer’s Note

Coolbanagher Church

at the town of Emo, not far from Portlaoise.

The church was built in 1786 by Lord Carlow to replace
another church that had burnt down. It was designed by
the Georgian architect James Gandon who was also
responsible for the Custom House in Dublin.

Hallo Thorsten!
Hier besticht vor allem der wunderschöne und ausgewogene Aufbau des Fotos. Das muss ein ganz besonderer Ort sein. Das Kirchengebäude ist in Stil und Ausführung für "mitteleuropäische Augen" ungewöhnlich. Das ganze strahlt eine herrliche Ruhe aus.
Ein schönes Advent-Wochenende "da unten im Rheinland"! ;-)
