[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This roundtower is located in the small town of Timahoe co Loais. Roundtowers were typically built to be used as an location that could alarm citizens of the arrival of trouble. Roundtowers were also used to give the town citizens a safe place in times of trouble this is why the entrance is always somewhat 5 metres above groundlevel.

Your note is very interesting and your picture a nice one, I would have seen more of this chapel too, but good to see this, Rene !

I absolutely love these towers. I once when up the inside of one somewhere North of Dublin (I forgot the exact name) and was quite impressed by the huge wood construction inside. Some kind of big and shaky ladders going from "floor" to "floor" up to the top. Quite impressive. But the look from outside is great too.

Sharp image with a great description.

I like your image, but I would have cropped a little of foreground out (up to the dead bush in the ruins)

Very clear and detailed, and nice color in the sky, even with bright white clouds! Great job, and a nice presentation. Thank you so much for the informative note.
