Pictured here is an area known as the Bluebell Walk in Donadea Forest Park, Co Kildare.
The park is 243 hectares in size and consists of a number of different walking routes which takes the walker around the various historic sites of the park. These sites include the ruins of Donadea Castle, its ice house, boat house and lime tree avenue, as well as the old church and the 2 acre lake.
In addition to these attractions, the park is also home to a touching 9/11 memorial. Inspired by the memory of Sean Tallon, a young fire fighter who died in the 9/11 attacks and whose family had emigrated to the US from Donadea. The memorial consists of a replica of the iconic towers, which are inscribed with the names of the firefighters and police personnel who lost their lives that day.
The park is a part of the old Aylmer estate, of whom the last descendant Miss Caroline died in 1935. After her death she left the estate to the Church of Ireland who in turn sold it to the Irish state who now maintain it as a forest park open the public under guidance of Coillte, the Irish Forestry commission.
I named the picture as such because in recent weeks, there have been some beautiful pictures of spring bluebells posted here on Trek Earth, and those of Brian (Timecapturer) in particular inspired me to go and find somewhere in Ireland that would afford a similar view. So this is my effort! My bluebell envy is now laid to rest :)
Thanks for looking.

Spring colors really are amazing, and so many of us are enjoying the same types of flowers at the same time in different corners of the globe. This setting is so lovely and peaceful. I can imagine how good it must smell after a rain shower. I really like all the green and blue. It was also interesting to read about the 9/11 memorial.

Ciao e buona serata

This is a nice place, full of colorful flowers! The narrow path among the flower is driving the eye inside the picture.
The light management is good (it is never easy to do when you are in the woods).

Wow! What a superb beautiful nature study! I love it! The blue flowers created a fantastic carpet full of vivid tones and great details. Amazing work taken with an excellent quality.

this is an excellent contribution to the bluebell posts on TE. I like the faint trace of a path through the bluebells, beckoning us and the fresh green of the trees. Interesting details perfectly exposed, like the creepers choking the tree trunks.

Same blue flowers as in Timecapturer's recent shot ! That's so lovely, I like how you framed your picture, divided in two parts. Just great colours.
carlo62 (37938) 2014-05-06 15:14

Fine view of the Bluebells at their peak and crowding the forest floor, with a narrow path leading into the saturated green forest.
And an informative note on the 9/11 memorial and the park's history as a bonus.

this is a very inviting place to visied someone with the brilliant light to enhance the beauty of this section of the park. The mauve flowers covering the ground and in combunation with the green leafs, makes the image unique.Excellent presentation.

I'm glad you have been able to put the blue-eyed monster to rest, in such an attractive way. Bluebells are such traditional wild flower that if you look hard enough, you will find them. I suppose the difficulty is, finding them in large enough numbers to create this carpet effect.
You have located and capture a beautiful bluebell scene. I like how you have used the little path to tempt us into the interior, and we do feel to enter the bluebell wood! The two trees, on the right, make a nice link with the trees on the left, to give a diagonal ad a sense of depth.
The light is gorgeous!
here is shade on the for but the leaves are almost iridescent.
Have a lovely day,
timecapturer (49288) 2014-05-07 3:24
well I have bluebell envy now! This is an irresistible glimpse into wonderland. I love the fact that yours has new spring growth on the trees which contrasts so exquisitely with the blue carpet. The line through the blues and the light here are just stunning, and I bet you are pleased with the result because it is enticingly beautiful! Love it!
PS Love the title too!
snunney (88924) 2014-05-07 4:23
Indeed, it is a most beautiful scene; nothing quite like a carpet of bluebells spread across the forest floor. Beautifully captured in this perfectly exposed composition. Colours and clarity are both superb. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Noel, very good picture of this beautiful forest of bluebells carpeting, beautifully composed and captured this beautiful image with good sharpness, depth, light and beautiful color. Excellent and interesting job well done, congratulations my friend. Thanks for sharing this beautiful work.
Good night and happy week.
Warm greetings from southern Spain.

Now why would anyone think to call this area Bluebell Walk? And as for your Blue-Eyed Monster, you've gone and been as romantic as Brian clearly was. What a couple!
Seriously: a glorious archetypal Spring photograph.
ourania (35794) 2014-05-07 14:30
your title is great and finely ironic since there are widely spread and very attractive green tones in your frame too:) I like very much the point of view you chose for this classic composition, the tree trunks frame the delicate natural elements that prevail in this area. There's an inviting path leading us through, it would surely make a wonderful walk. I love the soft light and the moderate brightness of the colours. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a good night,
Kamilutka (8105) 2014-05-08 1:09
so you have found your blue bells after all :-) Well done also for lovely presentation. It is such charming subject: the flowery carpet in the forest. Like a place for some fairies to have dance or picnic. Well captured and nicely executed with fresh colors and very good framing.
Thanks for sharing

Prijatno vece i lepa noc, sve najbolje.
Interesting article on the park with a history and description, a nice view of the flowers and the trees ...
Good moment recording and contrast, nice place shown with blue flowers and green trees, beautiful colors.
Nice place for a stroll.
Have a nice evening and night, all the best.

Ahhh, what a cute image. :) Sorry, just couldn't help myself. lol
I've mentioned to a number of others, as a desert dweller surrounded by dry rock and cactus, I've really been enjoying the multitude of colorful Spring time pictures from around the globe...especially these bluebells.
Like an enchanted forest, they really bring a lively, airy sensation to the visual. I really wish this could be a scratch n' sniff image, I bet the gentle aromas produced by these beauties are wonderful...and even if there's not that aspect, it still looks gorgeous!
I remember well your memorial picture from this park, and this makes for a nice link now between the two. Great title as well, a monster that's worth searching out. :) Have a good one. Take care.
Cheers from Arid-zona,

Excellent forest photo with beautiful colourful flower carpet and fresh green leaves. You can find similar forests in Switzerland, most of the with white flowers in green grass. I like it very much.
Very well done.
Wish you a nice weekend.
P.s. Thanks for comments to my BF photo, you are right, not very typical for BF, but you can find such small wetland area on many places in BF. Most of the well protected by local governmental authorities.
delpeoples (54603) 2014-05-09 6:59
Ahh I see like Brian and Bev, you've caught a dose of Bluebellitis. Well I'd have it too, if Bluebells ever dare grow here. This is exquisite and such a good reason to go for a walk, especially with a camera in hand. The colours are lovely and natural, it's like a psychedelic carpet of fluorescent blues and greens. As I said to Bev, I can imagine some kind of elf or fairy accidentally wandering into the frame as you shoot the scene. In fact I reckon if I look hard enough I'll find one...and a four-leafed clover!
Thanks for sharing, have a great Friday! Yay!

B(l)eautiful fairylike world with these flowers, nice photo !

Well, it's springtime to make yourself busy in the woods and everyone's at it at the moment - so rude not to join the party Noel as they only last a few weeks!! Perfect shot a joy as always to view! I love the contrast of the delicate bluebells to fresh greenleaves and the very mighty trees. Indeed a stunning blanket of colour we've got here, very well observed and captured. This has that quality, breathless and fleeting. Pleasure to view, Congrats

Excellent shot here.. Shooting in a forest is very tough for low light condition.. but You did a great job.. I also like the composition and framing.. Here I can see a narrow path between the flowers field.. Superb image quality and nice colors too.. Very well done.. And thanks for your informative note too..
Good morning and best wishes from Kolkata..
rigoletto (34269) 2014-05-13 15:10
you are really a lucky guy to be living so close to these beauties. the only blue bell i would see amongst istanbul's concrete jungle would be the bell of the catholic church near here, and only if the bishop decided to have the bell painted into blue :( as refreshing as touching it is.
Gigidusud (17673) 2014-05-15 14:22
J'adore!
Merci pour le partage.
brianmcc (6219) 2014-05-16 12:39
i love bluebell scenes at this time of year, and you have really nailed this one. the well saturated colours are fantastic. i especially like the contrast of the green grasses and the blues of the flowers. the dark trunks of the trees are well placed and really balance the image superbly.
