A beautiful red maple in the Japanese Garden, located on the grounds of the Irish National Stud. The garden was commissioned by Colonel William Hall-Walker (Lord Wavertree) and was designed by Eida and his son Minoru. It's a fairly well-established garden, having been created between 1906 and 1910. It didn't receive much attention until about 1945, when the Irish National Stud Company was formed. The following year a horticultural supervisor was assigned. Later, the garden was opened to the public. The garden symbolizes a journey from oblivion to eternity and the human journey through life. It's often called the most acclaimed Japanese Garden in Europe. More than 150,000 visitors experience the gardens each year.
