Observed from any vantage-point on the nearby Ring of Kerry, Puffin island and the Skellig Islands are spectacular pinnacles that demand your attention.
Puffin Island which you see in the foreground holds important populations of several seabird species, such as Atlantic Puffins, Manx Shearwaters and European Storm-petrels, and was acquired as a nature reserve by the Irish Wildbird Conservancy (now BirdWatch Ireland) in the early 1980s.

Excellent Stephen, a well chosen composition - the rolling foreground presents a nice entry to the view. Dramatic focal point too. I like the haze on the horizon, creating a mystical effect.
Overall for me it's a very natural shot, displaying natural beauty very symathetically.

Lovely picture and a beautiful place. The strange thing about Puffin Island is that there are no puffins inhabiting it. It was misnamed in the past. All of the puffins are on the Skellig rocks. I have some pictures of that area here on Trekearth if you are interested in having a look.
I really like all of your photography. Congratulations and keep up the good work.

Ahhhh...another fine foto from Mr Emerson. Ever get offers from Bord na Failte? ;-D Seriously though, I like how you framed up the shot so symmetrically with the wide "V" shape of the hills rolling down toward the water converging at the cut and the inverted "V" in the clouds above with the mist burning off the Skelligs as the centrepiece. I also like the incidental details of the sheep grazing between the little stone walls overgrown by grass and turf with an occasional post protruding. Nice colors, and lighting.I can smell the sea air(breathe in)!

This is my absolute favorite so far. It captures the amazing beauty of Ireland in a nutshell - the green, the ocean, the landscape, the sheep, the sense of mystery, fantasy and history.

Hi, Stephen. I think you've chosen an excellent POV to show us these islands. I like the way the islands appear in line behind each other. Your foreground with the sheep in the green meadows makes this a really typical Irish image. Very good light and focus.

Ireland is one of my favorite country. But I have never been there. But your picture looks like by my own eyes.

Well composed, indeed !
