i have just returned from a family holiday on the dingle peninsula, and the scenery is stunning. a week wasn't nearly long enough to take it all in.
the slea head road is regularly voted one of the most scenic drives in the world. and with views like this around every corner it is easy to see why. this is slea head, to the very west of county kerry.

Very nice picture. Great landscape, beautifully framed with the swell in the foreground long enough exposed to make it soft and milky.

Nice to see you back again and I look forward to seeing more pictures from your trip to the south of the Emerald Isle.
This one's a stunner with the most beautiful colours and some very fine contrasts. We can appreciate both the power and the gentle beauty of that swell hitting and flowing around the foreground rocks. The green topped headland to the right holds the whole composition together perfectly and is balanced by the incoming wave to the left. All under a gloriously characterful sky.
Perfect exposure (possibly with the use of ND filters?), lovely colours and stunning sharpness.

Good evening Brian,
A very beautiful shot, capturing the flow and motion , well conveyed movement.
The colours are beautiful and it is very nicely framed. I like the way the line of cloud echoes the curve of the headland- well captured

Another beautiful place, now by the sea!
Another attractive picture!
Again, long exposure is a true highlight!
Colors, chosen pov and composition also pleased me!

We thought you;d gone AWOL, good to hear it was only for a family holiday and I hope you got all the rest and relaxation you need. The colours here are magnificent and you did so well to slow the exposure down, when everything seems so bright already. The effect on the water is magical, and those rocks really make the photo for me. Such a marvellously rugged and untouched coastline here, congratulations and thanks for sharing it with us.

Hello Brian - I wondered where you had disappeared to. Nice to see you back and what a magnificent shot. I am so impressed by the technical quality here. You have managed to capture such a fabulous array of shades and tones in the sea and sky. The FG has a wonderful painterly quality with the motion of the waves really well rendered and soft against the hard rocks. The view across the cliffs and out to sea is no less beautiful. A very fine shot indeed. Congratulations Rosemary

Another excellent long exposure shot
here I like the delicate gradient of colors in the sky and waters, more or less in similar hues
Nicely composed with the brown aggressive rocks at FG and the part of greenery of the cliff
bravo, have a nice day

Hello Brian ,
I'm not allways a fan of long exposures (not only because i am not able to make this kind of picture :)) . But I must say that the effect in this case is outstanding . We can feel the movement of the wave , and the composition is so gorgeous . The grey sky creates a strong mood , too .

Have a great week - regards Brian.

this is one of my favorite places in Ireland. I see you did not have a good weather yet the photograph you produced is spectacular. The cloudy sky adds some dynamics which goes well with the moving water in the foreground. Great depth of the field -further in the distance we can spot the famous sharp shapes.
Excellent work -congratulations,

What a powerful seascape composition. I love to see the soft water combinded with a powerful sky and deep colors. A really dramatic view that looks more than a waterfall than the incoming tide. Very well done. TFS.

I`m not sure where you were standing, but your POV works well with the slow shutter speed capturing the swirl of the tide around the rocks very well giving a nice sense of drama to the shot.
Lots of atmosphere in a fine photo.
All the best Les.

this is an excellent composition and capture of the mesmerizing beauty and the amazing soft light of this place. There's so much to marvel at in the scenery, textures and colours. Depth is captivating, drawing us into the picture while the superb capture of the flowing waves draws us to the opposite direction too. The feeling of movement is intense and delightful, it is enhanced by the clouds. I love your point of view and the way it brings us into the image, letting us feel the energy of this place. The atmosphere is wonderful. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a good evening,

Dingle peninsula is really a fantastic place. I have great souvenirs from there, Connorr Pass, Inch Bay, Brandon Bay and of course the wonderful Slea Head Drive where you took this picture ! I find this shot just excellent ! The POV is very good and you made a perfect exposure, with nice details in the cloudy sky and a great effect on water. I add it to my theme about Ireland ;)

I can see you can spend a long time here to enjoy such beautiful scenery, and the sky is really beuatiful with the glow o fhte light between the clouds and the formation of the clouds adds to the drammatic mood to this drammatic landscape. Love the soft texture of the wave and I can really feel the motion of the wave.
Excllent colors, light and compostion. The overall look and feel like a master piece painting.

Yes, this is a picture that is wild
and calmness at the same time. It
has a little bit a look of a painting
and that makes the picture timmless.
Composition and light management are
more than excellent....Goes to my

Great quality shot! With the cloudy sky you got a perfect exposure to show the details. The sky and the water are excellent and they give us some sense of movement! Well done!
macjake (66546) 2012-07-17 22:08
alot of landscape/beach photo's of late!
This one may be one of your best ones.
If you look closely, its cool how the silky water seems to match the look of the white clouds high above.
the rocky cliffs on the right are incredably sharp!
well done with this beauty

a very beautiful image, well composed, both artistically and technically, beautiful slow-motion effect, it seems that the water formed as though the sea should flow in a cascade...super nice...
