Waterville revisited Photo

Photographer’s Note

View on the main street of Waterville, a small village in co. Kerry along the famous Ring of Kerry. I have an earlier post of this street, looking the other way.. According to one of the guidebooks, this is the most beautiful spot along the Ring of Kerry. And indeed, I did not have any complaints whatsoever. Though this may be a love view, the surroundings of Waterville are rough and almost deserted. And the bay on which Waterville is lying can be quite spooky, take a look here.

wow, I can't believe that you didn't increase the colors saturation in your pp!!! If this comes out straight from your camera, either you have set a parameter allowing it, either I'm very much impressed to see how vivid the colours are. Colourful main street anyway. I like it.

Very beautiful street and picture, the colours are stunning and the composition is good, it is not up to you but I can imagine the same picture without the parking cars on the street.

Very vivid colours here, and a nice angle too. I love the pink in pink on the last house - nothing spooky about this, but you're right, the bay is a bit scary :o)

Impressive colors, Rinie !
A simple but really nice shot.
Maybe can you crop a bit in the bottom, just in the angle of the green house.

I do remember the "other way" shot, Rinie, and this one makes a wonderful supplement to your previous posting. This has got to be one of the most colorful streets to be found anywhere in Europe, I imagine. Good diagonal view towards the houses, and the diagonal shadow of the power cable cast on the fa&ccecil;ades is an interesting detail. Great photo.

Die een was afdraend, die een is opdraend, die wys die motors se boude, die een wys die neuse. weereens baie mooi pastel kleure hier, Rinie. O, eksien dis wat in jou nota staan, ek het sommer die duimnaels beskou. Jou fokus punt is omternt op the H van hotel op the regter, voorste muur. Kyk alles raak sagter vandaar na agter.
Dit bly egter mooi vir my.

Very Irish, I never quite got used to it. I like the picture going uphill and what I feel is natural: it is really as is.

Amazing colors! Very nice! Nice simple buildings, too. Like in one of your previous shots from Ireland. Except the colors are even more intense in this one. I love the scale here, too. The buildings, when seen with the cars, don't seem to be able to be two full stories tall. Like the windows must be really low to accomodate. And the way just front the street. Really matches the bold colors with the "bold" placement. It just seems a bit soft, still, though. No bother, though. Great job!

Rinie, the colors here. the cable and its shadow is a great addition. This pictuer has a postcard quality. Beautiful in its neatness and simplicity.

Ces couleurs sont surréalistes en en font une image extraordinaire. Le bleu du ciel apporte encore à ce cliché trés coloré. Il ne manque que des voitures jaunes ou vertes pour compléter le tableau, mais là il faut de la patience...

Rinie: a fine, almost cartoon-saturated image. I'm not sure how true these super-saturated hues are, but the end effect is pleasing for sure. fine image overall. regards, c
