Photographer’s Note

Portmagee is a small fishing village beside the Atlantic ocean, and near to the 'Ring of Kerry', which is a famous route in Iveragh Penninsula, Co. Kerry. Often very busy, but Portmagee isn't bothered by this. It's on the Ballinskellig ring, which is less visited than the ring of Kerry, and no buses are allowed.

Portmagee or Magee's Port, as it was known, is named after one of the most notorious smugglers of the 18th Century, a Captain Theobald Magee.

The bridge in the back ground leads to Valentia island, which is Europe's most western part. From there on there's nothing but water until you reach Newfoundland.

I was surprised to see, that fisherman really go out on the ocean in these small wooden boats.

Tech: cropped, unsharp mask, and a frame added.
