Photographer’s Note

Killarney is one of the most popular destinations in Ireland. Its Irish name means Church of the Sloes (Cill Airne) and is situated just north of the MacGillicuddy Reeks on the northeastern shore of Lough Leane, part of Killarney National Park. It was a church site from the 5th or 6th century, but domestic settlement didn't begin until around 1500. It's a popular stop on a tour of the Ring of Kerry. As such, it's reported that there are more hotel beds in Killarney than any other town or city other than Dublin.
