Photographer’s Note

Hi Guys,

The shot I've uploaded today was taken in Salthill& Monkstown few days ago. The light and colours of the sky were absolutely brilliant, well have a look yourself.

I tried to dug out some info about Salthill& Monkstown itself, and below are few bits I was able to find:

Monkstown is a village in the south Dublin, located in the administrative county of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown. It is located on the coast, between the area of Blackrock and the town of Dún Laoghaire. The DART stations of Seapoint and Salthill & Monkstown serve the village. Monkstown is well known for its restaurants and bohemian residents.

you have a very good gallery, with many great landscape shots.
I like your dramatic sky and wide angle view.
I like your technique in postproduction, which makes very good balance between lights and shadows withouth making fake images.
Here the green stone in foreground is perfect to make the picture different from standard

Une belle image parfaitement composée avec ce rocher au premier plan.
Je regrette juste l'effet hdr un peu trop poussé qui enlève tout réalisme à cette image qui n'en avait pas besoin ;-)

The seaweed covered stone makes a splendid anchor point from the the eyes can rove over the wet beach with its beautiful warm toned reflections. All topped by a beautifully backlit sky. Splendid photography.

Ten zielony g³az wygl±da jak niesamowity potwór wy³aniaj±cy siê z morza.. Piêkne kolory nieba, gro¼ne i fascynuj±ce oraz ich wspania³e odbicie na spokojnej wodzie. Doskona³e kolory, kontrast i ostro¶æ. Bardzo dobry POV.

We don't see such a lot of vertical compositions from you, and this is just the occasion to make good use of it, so you could include the seaweed-strewn rock in the foreground. The green is quite a startling contrast to the warmer sunset colours, making it stand out. The reflected colours on the wet rocks are stunning. The exposure between sky and land is well balanced. Do you use ND grads?

Old Sellafield (I think that's the plant in Northern England) must be causing these nuclear looking greens. The HDR has worked a treat here, pleasant composition, the clouds again are very beautiful.
