Photographer’s Note

Hi Guys,

I took this picture in Dublin just few minutes before sunrise. The lighthouse, one of a formation of three, is located on the Great South Wall (South Bull Wall), at the Port of Dublin. The Port itself extends from Ringsend nearly four miles out into Dublin Bay, and was the world's longest at the time of its building, remaining one of the longest sea-walls in Europe. One of the other two lighthouses is located on the Bull Wall opposite, and the other on a wooden platform mid-channel.

Poolbeg Lighthouse in Dublin Bay was built in 1768 and initially operated on candlepower (reputedly the first in the world to do so) but changed to oil in 1786. It was re-designed and re-built into its present form in 1820.

czesc Darku,
fajnie wyszlo, kolory tak jak piszesz soft. Bardzo nietypowe a zarazem przyjemne swiatlo poranka. Dobra robota. Warto bylo zerwac sie na nogi tak wczesnie.

no to po co Ty chcesz tam jeszcze wracac?
Super. Bardzo mi sie podoba. Ta latarnia zawsze mi sie podobala (choc nigdy tak blisko nie dotarlem) a tutaj bardzo fajnie ja zaprezentowales. Chmury ulozyly sie swietnie, sciezka rowniez ladnie wkomponowana, no i przede wszystkim pusta -zadnych ludzi zreszta nie ma w Dublinie drugiego tak zwariowanego zeby wstawal przed switem...
Bardzo ciekawa kolorystyka i nastroj.

Molto bello il punto di vista basso! Così dai importanza al faro ed al cielo, la luce è dominata dal colore ambrato dell'alba e dà fascino alla foto.

witaj Darek, krótko przed wschodem słońca - w grudniu to nie takie trudne. Fajnie że w Dublinie tak blisko do morza, i to dzikiego miejsca z latarnią. Śliczne kolory. Stara ta latarnia. Pozdrawiam

Hello Darek,
A very appealing dreamlike quality to this fine composition. The lighthouse is nicely silhouetted against a beautiful and interesting sky. The early morning tones whilst warm are not overdone and create a pleasing mood.

You captured lovely evening light on this magnificent light tower. The colours are great. I might recommend you a slight correction by capturing the tower more to the left.

This lighthouse is fantastic!
The composition is so sweet and warm, well balanced and evocative. I can't imagine a better hour and POV.
The colours are really like a painting...
