I post this photo inspired by recent photo by Jason from Paris. jason made us curious what he was doing in night in the Place Pigalle area? It is also a night shot but my story is much less thrilling. What a lone old woman could do there?
It was for me very busy day, like most of my travelling days. I left my hostel in Liverpool very early in the morning, it was still dark and the breakfast was not yet served. St. Mathew street, so busy in evening and night, was quite empty, and other streets as well. I went with the bus from Liverpool One to the airport and then to Dublin. It was too early to check in in the hostel but I could at least to leave some of my luggage. Equipped with Noel's instructions (thanks, Noel!!) I went first to see the northern part of the town. I saw some places from the list, added some more, and looked for the church with dead bodies and old distillery. I went through rather poor parts of the town, specially near the veg market. I found an interesting building and the church but I am not sure what they were. probably not what I was looking for. Anyway, at Four Courts I met Darek. He used to post wonderful photos here on TE but somehow lost interest in making shots. But he wanted to meet me and showed me many interesting places on the other side of the southern part of the town. We also had tea in one pub (during blue hour, Mariusz was horrified when I sent him a message). I was glad to see the atmosphere of inside of the pub, I would rather not go alone. And I was surprised they had also tea, not only Guiness! In the evening, Darek went home and I could check in. But it was to early to stay in the hostel, so I took my camera and tripod and went to make some shots in Temple Bar area. I am not sure if I used tripod here. The view of someone setting tripod near the entrance to the pub must have been funny, but it is possible that I did. Unlike in the case of Jason, I felt quite safe there. It is tourist area and it was not so late in the night. After this night session I still had to put my photos in the netbook. But this time I didn't post any photo on TE, lazy:).
Once again, I was glad that my hostel was in the very centre of the city and I could walk in the night and early morning nearby. Even if I share my dormitory with snoring guys (in one case five of them), I do not care.

It is much photographed this pub in Temple Bar I think - I have one myself taken during the day some twelve years ago just before I changed to digital. You have managed to capture the atmosphere of the place beautifully in this night time composition. The image is well exposed with very good colours and sharpness. I like it very much.

Superb street night photo with excellent lighting, nice colors. I like the POV showing the house corner in the foreground. The young people add nice life to the scene. Well done.

Mial wieksze ambicje niz my :)
Zabawnie sie oglada zdjecia z miejsc w ktorych sie mieszkalo i bywalo tak czesto. Ja mam az kilka takich miejsc. Juz i Dublin nalezy do mojej przeszlosci...

A splendid night composition, this corner is full of charm and showing us the nightlife atmosphere, perfect decoration of floors, the façade of the pub is really nice.
A very good natural color.
The brightness is very good, as is the sharpness.
Well done. I love it.
Have a good day.

This photo has a good nightly atmosphere and very good sharpness in spite of the darkness and fairly long exposure time. It makes me think of my journey in 1968 when I hitch-hiked all over Ireland with a friend. We spent a lot of times in pubs (where we used to drink anything but tea) and always felt very safe even late at night. Even then we never stayed at hostels, always private B&B. Spending the night with a handful of snoring strangers sounds to me just as bad as being in hospital, and I would never do it of my own free will at this age.

I must read your note to know where this Temple bar was, being a so common name in England and it seems, also in Ireland
Tripod or not a great ambience here, cobled street, people chatting , looking at the phone, relaxed scene for being taken in front of a bar
Good warm colors, cheers

PS: Our snow is already melt away but it is surprising that you still did not have snow. Wishing you very white xmas

Hi Malgo,i love it!! This is one of your most beautiful pics,no doubts! It seems a movie scene, great 3D effect, spectacular details and colors and perfect exposure too,the noise too seems a perfect special effect, very very well done! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Haha, inspiration comes in many forms, yeah? ;) Well this certainly doesn't appear anywhere near as seedy or provocative as my late night walk, but fun and lively none the less. Artificial lights sure can alter the mood, and I like what they've done here to project a yellowish hue over the scene. Harsh critics would most likely say it's far too much of a color cast, but I think it helps set a fun night time feeling to this most popular and well known bar in Dublin, thus giving the traditional look a little wrinkle of something new.
Good thing I wasn't there in the dorm, you wouldn't have have a minute of sleep...I snore like a bear! Glad I could help with your choice of photo today. :)
Have a great one. My warmest wishes,

Yes, I know this place :) I have enjoyed a pint once or twice here, so its a joy to see in here on TE. As Stephen mentioned, this pub does get a lot of photos taken, so I dont think it would seem too strange to see you with your tripod! The result is excellent, it has a gritty urban feel to it and the whole golden hue is lovely. There is also a beautiful range of other colors througout as well. Very nicely done.
Its funny they still have the sign for the Fine Smoking Tobacco when smoking indoors is banned :)
All the best

A great photo, but I don't know why you wrote so much below it.

Wonderfully collected this night-out scene on town, Malgo.
Light superbly managed, figures collected almost motionless(a known problem on night shots), and the whole ambiance around the bar is well conveyed.

Ciao cara Itchy Feet
Ah the Irish certainly know how to celebrate Christmas and also make their pubs look so inviting and cosy. The warm light you chose here really accentuates that welcome feeling, aswell as helps to highlight the cobblestones and characteristic features of the pub. A pity you do not like Guinness, I don't know how you could resist in that weather :)
