A very nice scene and I like the choice for B&W...this is in the syle of some very tasteful, simple landscape shots. I do have a few recommendations. The fence hurts the composition...I know you couldn't get rid of it, but I thoiught I'd add it to my comments. Second, the photo data indicates a few things to me. Seeing that your shutter speed was 1/1000, you should have stopped down your aperture more. This would have lent much more sharpness to your photograph. For landscapes you definately don't want to go under f/8 if you can help it. I know the day looks a little grey, but a little longer of an exposure might have added a little more glow to the sky as well. Finally, a lower perspective on the tree would have set the crown even higher against the sky and eliminated some of the bleeding into the background tree line...again, the fence would interfere so it may not have been possible. I hope some of this helps and that you don't mind.

My goodness Adam, I was sure I already critiqued this shot! Now I can't find my lines.
I like this shot for its moodiness. Excellent choice to make it a b&w shot. How many murders were committed in Malahide Castle? OR is it merely haunted? I might offer soime suggestions on the compo, but will have to come back to do that!
Take care, Jay
