Most of you will be more than familiar with this subject, the Grand Canal Theatre in Dublin is a favourite subject of Noel's (Noel_Byrne) . Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to visit the location during the evening to see the red and green lighting but the day I visited, there was a clear blue sky which contrasted well with the red poles.

Hi Rosemary,a very original composition, full of geometries and with a great contrast between red and blue in the sky, perfect details, bright colors and imposing perspective too,i like it! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

That's a beauty :) The blue sky is so rare and so striking with the red lights stabbing into the sky like this, such a wonderful contrast of colors. You have a wonderful intriguing sense of the design of the theatre, and the angle makes the lights seem really huge. This is a classic composition, and one I would love to take myself, as I have a habit of chopping the heads off the big red poles!
As somebody once joked to me about this place, it is not often you see red white and blue in Dublin. Beautiful shot, really a refreshing and lively scene from here.
Have a great weekend

Hello Rosemary. I was there in the evening and I even posted a photo but was not quite glad with it. In summer day these red poles against a dark blue sky look fantastic. Spectacular composition. WArm regrads MAlgo

This bright day must have been the perfect moment for a photo like this. The contrasts of red "pillars" (what should they be called?), blue sky and green and white building are striking. The nearest building also provides a lot of diagonal lines in various directions. You have combined all these elements into a fine work of art.

molto interessante l'impatto visivo che si ha osservando questa foto. Le linee rosse verticali irrompono nel fotogramma in modo deciso ed evidente, suddividendo in più parti le tre aree che hai composto, cielo, faccita in ombra e facciata luminosa.

I certainly remember these buildings from some of Noel's shots, Rosemary - I like your take here as well, focusing on the poles gives it a modern and abstract quality, and some randomness and unpredictability, as well as bright coloration when contrasted with the geometry of the buildings beyond. Thanks!

Le graphisme de l'image est très intéressant et on admire l'association des couleurs ciel-bâtiments. J'aime beaucoup!

you played well with the lines and surfaces and the bold colors to get a stunning vision of Dublin.

An agreeable marriage of shapes, angles and the bold primary colours really leap out of the image, turning the usual into unusual powerful art work. That red adds real impact to the simplicity and balance of the composition, well seen and produced image with superb abstract quality. Congrats, tfs

You have made the most of the graphism offered by this corner of the building. Something accentuated by the vivid colours and judicious cropping.

wow! I love this minimal composition for those graphical elements in every corner of the frame. I love the contrasting colours too. A nice and interesting composition with fine depth and sharpness. Great shot. Tfs.

a shot that is both original and inspirational. Before TE I would never have even contemplated images like this and how effective they are. It is a coming together of lines, shapes, colours, light and shadows that becomes a piece of art in its own right. Wonderful!
Have a great weekend - B.

I can`t get over that clear blue sky,it makes a perfect BG for the bright red poles and the other range of graphic shapes, some imaginative exposure settings and a clever square composition has come up trumps,it`s a fine piece of photography.
I wonder if you had this shot in mind before you visited the area.
Kindest regards Les.

I first saw this building and then became familiar with it through Noel's pictures too. It's interesting to see your compositional approach that plays wonderfully with the patterns and colours and could be seen as abstract. I love the interaction of different patterns, perspectives and colours and wonder if it might look even more effective with a bolder cropping at the top. The light and the colours are irresistible and this artistic architectural view is so dynamic and vibrant. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely weekend,

i have not been to Dublin but I like this a lot, very creative! It looks more like a painting than a photograph, especially with the strong colors, poles and the windows in the background. Very effectful and well executed picture!
annjackman (20539) 2014-02-28 23:49
I enjoy the saturated colours in this graphic image. The tilted architecture adds to the modern look. You chose a very good viewpoint indeed.
Kind Regards, Ann
