Continuing our walk along the banks of the Liffey in the docklands area, it was plain to see that the redevelopment of the area had ground to a halt. The results of the economic crisis which hit Ireland so badly was obvious. Half completed developments stand vacant, beautiful old buildings slowly crumble and decay and yet standing cheek by jowl with decrepitude, modern architectural marvels allude to the wealth and optimism generated by the Irish ‘Celtic Tiger’ economy where direct financial investment flooded into the country (1995-2000).

You have composed this shot well to make an interesting graphical image. Superb saturated colours and and excellent rendering of the detail. 1908 is a long time ago, great pity it has been allowed to go rack and ruin like this.

one of the best things Ireland has to offer-beautiful,atmospheric pubs and definitely one of the best beers in the world.
But it´s sad to see such lovely places closed due to the economic crisis.
Anyway it´s a great architectural composition.Even if closed the architecture is still beautiful and has its own charm. And apart from this I enjoy this strong color contrast. It really makes the scene!
Wish You a nice weekend

This is a wonderful photograph! On the "normal" website it looks good enough but, in its larger size on "beta" TE, it leaps out of my screen with wonderfully vibrant colours and stunning details and sharpness.
The contrasts between the colours on the façade of this old building are fabulous, the blue/green of the details of the boarded up pub standing out against the orange/red of the old brickwork surrounding it.
Very well seen and taken with lovely light and colours, bang-on exposure and stunning details and sharpness.

Hello Rosemary ,
What an attractive façade ! Even such elements like aerials of road signs are attractive here. with an excellent framing . Colors are splendid .

Charming facade, a true attractive image in great colors. I feel sorry for that place being out of business.
Enjoy the weekend.

beautiful color contrasts and details made in this bar abandoned.

It sure is sad to see these places rot, we can see from the level of detail and decoration in the façade and sign that this place would once have been a source of great pride to somebody, and great enjoyment to many others. Despite this though, I do still love abandoned buildings so for me this still has a special charm. All the elements of it being left alone are there, the shuttered windows, the graffiti, even the surprisingly attractive flowering weed on the path. Nice touch with the rusting satellite dishes too, and the green and orange tones really burst from the screen. Thanks again

This is marvellous straight-on lively shot depicting the stunning colours of the facade. The contrast to the characterful building pulls all attention in without any distraction. A simply delicious razor shot image impossible to ignore and pleasing on the eyes. Well done, Congrats.

Bel effet couleurs.

Another wondeful photo from Dublin. Strong, saturated colours and sharpness highlights the detail in this old building. Devoid of people in the composition conveys even more a feeling of neglet.
Kind Regards, Ann

Ciao e buona domenica

nice to see you back, this is a lovely shot if a little sad, another victim of the recession along with all that came with it.
The contrasting saturated colours give the shot lots of interest and impact.
Best regards Les.

Trying to get caught up from the last couple of weeks, and this one stood out to me in your gallery this evening. I love these old and rustic street type scenes, there's so much character appeal and texture to be had...and when it's all arranged such as this, it makes it even more interesting. :) Even without the human element, it feels to have life...perhaps the bright light, or suggestion of activity from the satellite dishes...but there's something up beat for me about this shot. I really like how you've put this together, very vibrant and colorful! Have a great day ahead.

Unfortunately, this is now happening in several European countries. Just hope the building may be used for something else - it's a really nice one. Colours, light and details are just great! A good shot.
