An Irish Irish pub - not a Irish American, or Irish European pub. :)

We came to Cork on our way from Kilkenny to Killarney, it was about three a clock, and people well well on their way to getting plastered. Well, some of them at least. Pretty soon they started singing these old traditional songs - which are also a part of why I came to Ireland in the first place. You cant really experience Ireland without a pint of Guiness and The Fields of Athenry, can you.

But anyway, I like these pubs - they have pictures all over the walls, I think I even see a photo of Kennedy in the background. A lot of ambient, even if the photo doesn`t show it.

I know it`s not the best of photos, but it`s one of the three I have of Cork (was there for barely two hours) - I`m posting the other two as a WS. The first is the outside of the pub, the second is shot from a bridge, the river is Lee.

Hello Miha
I see three people in this Cork bar, this would have been rammed before the smoking laws were introduced in Ireland. Its clear as daylight because there is no clouds of smoke :-). Nice bar setting though, its a part of Irish life, I hope you enjoyed Ireland.
Regards
Jim

Hi Miha,
The indoor photogaphy fascinates, and when executed well satisfes the heart. In shots like this the light management is of most important value because the darkness overshadows a number of details.
A simple but nicely executed shot.

Rajeev

Good to see a real Irish Pub - they are nothing like the phoney ones that are spreading around the world.
A great shot Miha - good composition and very crisp, clear and atmospheric (helped by the non-smoking laws!)

Excellent shoot, very nice image. Beautifull details. Well done.

Best wishes,
Achim

Hello Miha, I have never been to Ireland but this one looks like the many small & interesting pubs in the UK all with a cosy & intimate atmosphere, I think you have captured that in this shot, Good detail & colour under difficult light conditions. Those Kegs must be empty to be left outside like that. ;-))).
Thanks
Santo

hi Miha

Looks like you cannot leave this place without a few pints and looking at your shot with good focus, you were still sober with steady hand.

I had been to Glasgow and the pubs were always full of people. But I believe Ireland is very much different in style and character. Very well decorated interiors, as seen from your shot.

tfs, bill

M: a simple image but one replete with atmosphere and ambience. It's a fine TE upload. Have a good day. regards, c

Hey Miha,

Three pm huh...is that the happy hour?! When in Ireland, who wouldn't drop by an authentic Irish pub and get the vibe with the local people and enjoy their beer! The bar looks neat not as sloppy as the ones found in the UK (well I've been to some that were).

I like the how the lightings appeared, very nice accurate colour that is. I wonder if you can still take the same shot after having a couple of pints dude ;)

Cheers!

Jom

Hi Miha,
There is nothing better place than traditional Irish pub! :)
I try to sped some hours every week in the place like this.
The familiar atmosphere of local pub is captured very good on this photography.
Best Regards and TFS
Chris
