Photographer's Note

Just around the corner from Glengarriff, small town in County Cork, there is Bamboo Park. It is worth a walk even when the weather is not inviting (see picture).
From the Park itself you can stroll along the coastline of Bantry Bay.
The micro-climate in this area is very special so that sub-tropical plants can be easily cultivated here.
Therefore plenty of small botanical gardens. The most famous is to be found on Ilnacullin Island (ferries from Glangarriff town).
