Photographer's Note
I suppose I had to post something from the Cliffs of Moher sooner or later, the scan quality is pretty awful. NeatImage really softened the foreground, which I could not (safely!) avoid. Taken before sunset when the site, and the parking area, is free of charge, and the daytrip buses and crowds are thankfully absent. There really is no other time to be at this site if enjoyment of the scenery is the intention.
Honestly I did not drink any GREEN beer before posting this.

For your own sake I hope you didn't drink green beer, what do they put in that stuff?! No beer for me tonight, last night it was Denmark's finest ;)
A good view, nicely saturated colours, especially the green grass, so I think it's an appropriate post for the day that's in it (well technically it's now march 18th here, but i won't get all pedantic about it!).

That promontory takes the viewer's eye along it and into the sea! Strong contrast and nicely saturated colors, i like the textures of the sea and cliffs here... nice little flowery FG.

Excellent composition here Tan, with the line of these magnificent cliffs drawing the eye through the depth of the image. It's a simple and very effective composition.
I'd have liked to have seen a bit more of the clifftop in the foreground to give a greater sense of depth to the image, but overall I like this a lot.
Cheers,

I raise my glass of Guinness to this beautiful landscape. The deep colour of the sea is as good as the deep colour of the beer. And for the beer I really like it gold or black, not green. Well done.

Hi Tan,
An appropriate one from the Captain's comprehensive PoV, it displays the essential amount of beer and the captain's light hitting the cliff does its job, a nice oldie !

Nice tribute to St Pat , Tan. The curve of the bay is a strong compositional feature. It's a nice rendition of those rich irish colours and the rocky Atlantic coast. Your details of the tourust hoards is rarher offputting though. It looks deserted in your picture.

Hi Tan,
You've got to watch out for that green beer..... It'll give you a killer headache! ;) And posting a pic of Ireland on St Patricks day? I guess it's probably the most appropriate day to do it!
This is a wonderful scene captured with excellent detail. I feel that nothing created by the hand of man can compare with the stunning, rugged beauty of nature's creations. This pic is one more that I feel supports my view.
Considering that you say the scan quality was pretty bad, you've got every reason to be pleased with this image. If you hadn't mentioned the foreground, I probably wouldn't have looked at it close enough to notice that it's a little softer than it should be. The detail in the rest of the pic looks to be pretty good. I also love the rich colours, particularly the green on the cliff tops. It's amazing! I also feel that you've got your composition exactly right. I love the way the line of the cliffs extends diagonally across the photo with just a hint of the ocean in the background.
It's easy to like your photos, Tan. Scenery like this makes me want to go to these places and see them for myself.
Hugs,
Tony

Hi Tan,
On the occasion of St. Patrick's day, all is forgiven - even and perhaps especially the softness of the green grass in the foreground. I like the great depth here and how far the eye can discern details on the lengthy peninsula. A really fitting post for the occasion. Magical Irish tones pervade the image.

Hi Tan,
Please don't be so perfectionist... I was almost decided to post some of my old film photos, when I see this great scan qualified as "pretty awful" by its author... Take pity on us poor mortals that would love that their most successful scans were nearly as good as this one.
Maybe it is below your average in therms of sharpness and luminosity, but it is still great.
Above all, I like the textures of the cliffs and the sea and that zigzag that leads our eye from the lower right corner to the infinite on the horizon and the contrast of the sharpness of the fg against the haze on the bg.
Regards, José.

Hello Tan,
A beautiful view (without tourists) over the cliff and ocean from a good POV... I like also the texture of the water, the white line along down the cliff, made by the foam of the sea, the green grass which is very attractive to the eye and the inclusion of the small flowers in FG. Lighting is great too...
