ABOUT THE TITLE
As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed him.
My apologies for those not interested in the subject.
First Christian leader after Jesus was St Peter, former fisherman.
He left everything behind and followed his Master.
His faith, his honesty and integrity were the virtues which helped him to build a new church.
The time has changed: Today’s church leaders leave their boats, which they used to fish people’s souls, to rot, instead they build themselves modern yachts for pleasure. Next to the church they build themselves a huge house much bigger than the house for God.
They don’t see anything wrong in it, they also don’t notice that dark clouds gather above them.
ABOUT THE PLACE
This photograph was taken not far from Sligo town on the way to Rosses Point along the R291 road. I have already uploaded another photo (HERE) from exact same POV but facing south, this is the view to the east.

Ciekawe zestawienie starej zdezelowanej lodzi rybackiej i ladnego czystego jachtu.

That's a lovely scene, and well photographed. The colours are rich, and the early Spring light is well captured and controlled on the highlight surface of the boat's hull. It's a pleasing perspective which gives a good sense of depth. It's a pity that large and box-like house was built to spoil this modest scene; it's a great contrast to the church and the old wooden boat lying on the bank. Sky looks great. I'm not sure about the sentiments in your note - to me, one doesn't need to refer to the Bible to point out the greed and materialism of people today.

thanks for the beautiful words written in your critique.
Unfortunately, due to lack of time, my critiques will be modest. I respect the effort that was invested in this beautiful work. congratulations on a good photo.

Hi Mariusz, I got a little confused at this place name as I know there's a part of Donegal called The Rosses. But it would seem the name "Rosses" is quite popular in Ireland. I love what you have done with the light here and the rust on those old beached boats looks amazing. The poor old boats look stranded and unloved. The sky looks really moody and threatening and I like the puddles of water in the FG. Excellent depth, the detail of the church in the BG is impressive. TFS and I wish you a good weekend, Lisa

Hi Mariusz, you know how i think about your works...and this is another pearl in your fantastic gallery.whit the usual beautifull sky in background. Thanks for share, have a nice day,Luciano.

This is a well composed shot with the boats in the foreground and the church providing the main focal point. The lighting and colors are outstanding and the photo has fine sharpness. The dark sky provides nice contrast for the brightly lit foreground.
SWEETFREEDOM (24621) 2010-08-20 3:30
i like very much this low tide landscape.
The threatening sky above is beautiful. Great contrast and p.o.v.
lgir (7363) 2010-08-20 4:04
With this ominous sky, contrasts and colors are nicely accented.
Good POV and work.

Nice work! I like what you did as composition with the two boats; good balance and appealing view. Looks like you also had typical Irish wheather ;-))
bema (26425) 2010-08-20 4:16
impressive capture with a lot of beautiful motives and colors, think that mix of all is the key to your splendid composition..
have a nice weekend, see you, Bernd
s_lush (16596) 2010-08-20 4:25
The gloomy sky is a good background for not only the brighter middle and fore grounds of the scene, but also for the philosophic part of the note, which seems to be pessimistic to a certain extent, but quite correct. As usual, the composition and photographic qualities are excellent here. Great job!

Hello Mariusz ,
Another great coatal scene , very different from the previous one . A more peaceful place . It looks a little like some part of my region . Colors are really splendid , with this fantastic light , providing beautiful contrasts with the dark sky . Excellent composition and DOF , too .
Sergiom (84633) 2010-08-20 5:09
UlfE (14641) 2010-08-20 11:48
A really fine compostion and very good timing with the lighting. I guess that it might not have been possible to take a photo like this a few minutes later. TFS and have a nice weekend!

Storming sky , wonderful colors with a bit of sun
Good composition with the church just loooming at the back
Greetings from Argentina

rodgerg (55767) 2010-08-21 5:48
Excellent composition nad too very efficince with these two boats in the FG which give a great depht to the image with the prospect open to the village in the BG. Superb athmospehre under a beautiful cloudy sky well collected too.
Have a nice WE,

Great feel to this one, perhaps taken in intermittent evening light? Lovely clarity, and the background buildings add much as well. A very satisfying photo! Warm regards,

You have a very pleasant light on this image that delivers a very luminous impression even though it's cloudy, I like that
Have a nice day JY

Hello my dear Mariusz
So wonderful and gorgeous shot.
The front secne and the background are very well matched, marvelous indeed! Splendid bright but tasteful color too. Perfect stable framework and very well organized composition as usual. Congratulation on your great job, thanks for sharing and have a good weekend!
Best regards, Takero

That's a very beautiful and attractive picture!
Sharpness, exposure, pov, dof, colors, pp, contrasts, horizontal format and composition are all excellent here!
Special regards to the contrast between the cloudy sky (with dark grey clouds) and the other elements that are hit by the sunlight!
TFS - congrats!

dramatically the light of the scene with the two boats to be pulled out of the water.I like the balance of the image as the excellent quality of it.Well done.
Have a nice weekend,Danos

Good evening Mariusz,
The photograph is poetic and mystical with this church half hid. I appreciate the light and the quality of the photograph. Excellent composition.
Have a good evening

Czesc Mariusz! Jak spiewal przed laty Roger Waters "The Tide is Turning". Dobre zdjecie, bardzo dobre, choc robi wrazenie cokolwiek przerazajace i przygnebiajace. Przekonujaca robota.

AKITA (15125) 2010-08-21 18:36
a beautiful view shot of very suggestive scene,
center shining new boat and left tilt broken boat are contrasted very meaningfully, it is impressive,
that distant church looks watching both boats gently,
the bright light and the back cloudy sky are contrasted dramatically too,
thank you for your excellent shot,
josepmarin (58359) 2010-08-22 5:35
The sky is impressive, the light is very well managed, the image is very clean and the colors are very natural.
I like the contrast between the old left boat and the new sailboat on the sand of the low tide.
An excellent photo.
Your note is very interesting also.
Very good work.
Urs (14082) 2010-08-22 7:21
Good dry shot of the boats, looks really wet and fresh. Good vibrant color hues and sharpness. Well done. thanks for your critique of my paddy field.

Ciao Mariusz, beauitiful composition with lovely in FG, beautiful little church against a wonderful Grey sky, very well done my friend, ciao Silvio
macjake (70519) 2010-08-22 11:38
it just goes to show doesn't it, that even in a dark cloudy atmosphere, you can still get bright lighting.
its amazing that you have such strong light here.
you have placed the 4 subjects sporadically so that we can see them all clearly.
excellent sharpness as your usual too.
not exacatly a beautiful scene, but well executed, and i like the atmosphere.
paololg (31448) 2010-08-22 14:11
Ciao dear Mariusz
when I admire a photo of yours I always have the feeling to be in the scene, as I looked in a window. This feeling is possible only when the photographic quality is perfect. Compliments also for the choice of the subjects, always pleasant. Bravo!
Ciao, have a nice Monday!

Dobre zdjecie, ciekawa notka z informacjami.
riclopes (35577) 2010-08-23 1:06
Olá M, your other post complements nicely this one to have a better understanding of the place. I like the composition of the two boats and two buildings here. Modern elements stand out more. The sailling boat is very atractive and the main point of focus for me. Curiously the church is hardly seen in those grey tones against a grey sky. Quality of image is excellent as always.
andywo (4725) 2010-08-23 10:55
quillo (11856) 2010-08-24 10:25
Hi Mariusz :
The scene is very agreeable, the contrast of
the light of the sun and the gray thunderclouds
of the fund do of the composition a very special picture,
the stranded ships in the ground finish off a good work,
Longroute (19396) 2010-08-25 1:31
You know boats are my passion and I like this combination of an old wreck and a new boat. The whole scenery with the low tide is typical of Nothern Europe with a strong contrast between the dark sky and the well lit ground. Your usual high definition makes one appreciate the textures of the seaweeds and of the old wreck.
Fine and appropriate methaphore in the note.
Kielia (24077) 2010-08-25 1:51
it is not only the beautiful light that makes this impression of the fishermen’s church very attractive, it is also the perspective. Very fascinating colors and contrasts. My compliments, also for the interesting note that is food for thoughts!
gildasjan (43654) 2010-09-05 3:37

Ladna kompozycja ze wspaniala gra swiatla, cieni i kolorow. Interesujace detale lodzi na pierwszym plane. Piekne te szare niebo.
Bardzo ladna praca
brianmcc (6219) 2011-11-18 12:46
i love the deep saturated colours in your picture, especially the boat to the left. the light is quite beautiful. excellent clarity to the whole image. the sky is fantastic, very moody and atmospheric. your notes are also very interesting. you have used the picture to create your own parable.
kennyblack (4207) 2012-06-10 4:41
After all this time I returned to the TE to see new work and I found this beautiful picture with a tone of sadness seeing the boats outside their natural element. The pictures and great quality (which is your feature) and I also find it interesting that the text in a certain sense it adapts to the photo. Thanks for sharing. At best greetings, have a nice Sunday ... Marino
ikeharel (74893) 2016-04-20 0:29
Good morning marius,
The link to the southwards photo now makes sense, saw it before and here we see the surrounding to the east.
a fine composition, dark clouds matchs what written in the note, and gave dark contrast to the low tide water and soil, with green grove partition. The houses along the shore added the missing warm colors, and those are in fine clarity.
