Photographer's Note

Pictured here is a solitary tree that stands at the top of a hill outside the Co Meath village of Kiltale.

Kiltale itself is a tiny rural area, and the village as such consists really of the local church and school, with a scattering of houses around it. Its population is only 300. Its main claim to fame is that it is home to the European Union Food and Veterinary Offices and a huge beef research center.

I posted another shot of this tree recently, but this one is taken from the other direction. I pass this tree every day on the way to and from work (this is the angle I see coming home) and when the sun creates a good spectacle behind it, I cant help but stop and take a snap. I've admired this little lonely tree for years.
