Photographer's Note

Pictured here is a solitary tree that stands at the top of a hill outside the Co Meath village of Kiltale.

Kiltale itself is a tiny rural area, and the village as such consists really of the local church and school, with a scattering of houses around it. Its population is only 300. Its main claim to fame is that it is home to the European Union Food and Veterinary Offices and a huge beef research centre.

I took this snap on an icy morning on the way to work, as the sun rose it presented a fine display of colors in the sky. I stopped to take this as this tree is a subject I admire every day when I pass it.

Thanks for looking and Happy St Patricks day to everybody!
