Photographer’s Note
Shellinghill/Templetown called after the crusading "Knights Templars" fronts one of Louth's most popular but as yet unspoilt stretch of coastline.
Protected on each side by a low level rock promontory, its smooth safe sands extends its friendly playground to curious underwater marine life and to numerous local and day trippers.
A second closer shot of this little fishing vessel Taken at sunset, this is a fishing boat that was beached named "Boy Joseph"
Thanks for looking :)

Superb and immensely dramatic. I love the use of tones and textures and those divinely burnt hues. The composition is amazing

Amazing photo, amazing gallery!
Gary, as you have the experience with the L-serial of Canon lenses, is there a big difference to the classical ones? And if yes, which differences? I am thinking to buy one, but they are so expensive.
Cheers, Leonidas

Beautiful sunset colors. I like the wide angle view, and the effect of the low tide.

Hi Gary,
This is an outstanding image and one that deserves far more attention. Your placement of the boat and the mooring lines is perfect as is your handling of the exposure. I can't believe how little feedback you've gotten. (I am starting to find myself doubting the TE audience.)
Cheers!

Hi Gary!
It' been a while since I visited your gallery. It's always a treat. These last two of the boat are great. Lovely compositions with great natural colors. The ropes are certainly a subtle and interesting feature. Beautiful light! Great work! cheers,

Hi Gary,
Oeh, that is really nicely exposed!
You're the master with this type of photography!
Just look at the green sea weed on the rope. What a wonderful little detail. The ropes going to the lower corners of the composition are great. Nice work!!

Superb use of what looks like HDR to get a magnificently colored picture, rich in details and from a very interesting POV.

Hi Gary,
On the edge of reality, but with high impact on colour, composition and framing. The full-frame sensor is really paying of here and the 17-40 (which is a damn good lens) shows the wide-angle in all his beauty.
Very dramatic colours, but as said, high on impact, and that what's count.
Great work here, very well presented.

Congratulations Gary. It is a great picture. Colors have been rendered amazingly well. The pp is clever and the red of the boat has been preserved in an amazing way despite the contra light.
Excellent!
