Photographer’s Note
This little-known castle crowns a rocky outcrop in the hills northwest of Dundalk, Co. Louth. It was the seat of the De Verdon family, who first came to Ireland 1185. Castle Roche is known in the old records "Castlellum de Rupe" or de la Roche - the Castle of Rock.
An associated Manor Roche evidently fared badly for in 1316-17, it was reported that no profit could be received from the land, and by 1332 the castle was lying burnt at the hands of the Irish. Later, Roesha De Verdon married and the castle passed to another family with properties in Staffordshire, England. Like many other castles in Ireland, it was finally laid ruin by Cromwell.

Hello Gary
A really great shot. The scene is dramatic, and the capture very good. It is maybe a little too smooth due to the PP - but that is just me. The effect is actually quite good.
nice work
Cheers

Hello Gary,
The colors in this photo are beautiful! I like the different pastel shades in the sky, and the deep green beneath the castle. The castle itself is wonderful, and I like the tree on the right side that adds a mysterious feeling to the scene.

Allô Gary!
Il est superbe ce vieux château avec cet arbre et les nuages noirs qui nous font penser aux films d'horreur. Bonne note et excellente composition.
Félicitations!...

Very interesting comment, of course the picture is beatuiful the sky you captured and the intense green contrasting with the rock walls of the castle, the tree in the first plane is like a tale tree.
Congratulations,

The castle is absolutely beautiful (or what's left of it),
and you gave it a proper treatment in your PP work, Gary.
I have to admit I like this POV much better than the one
in your most recent upload.
The castle and the 'electric' tree form a diagonal that
separates blue sky from green grass in a most subtle way.
Evocative of Tim Burton and fairytales... magic!
