spiddal is a small village situated on the shores of galway bay, county galway. it is famous around the world for its collage where students learn the irish language, gaelic.
spiddal, or 'an spideal' in gaelic, means hospital, and it is believed it takes its name from a hopsital that existed in the area a number of centuries ago.

That's masterpiece of DOF! Very moody panoramic scene with amazing depth. Super light and colors management. Super play of different places on the shot

The red bench in the forgropund completely changes the picture and makes you curious to see what is behind.

Hello Brian - I'm never sure about including people in a landscape but in this instance I think it works well. The red bench is a good introduction to the scene and nicely placed. The tie-in with the boys shorts is a serendipitous touch and the POV looking out over the sands to the sea and land beyond completes the narrative. A strong and well considered composition with very good management. Warm regards Rosemary

Joli POV, une photo bien construite ou malheureusement, la surface de l'eau semble courbe et pencher correctement vers la gauche. Beaucoup de profondeur, comme il convient pour les photos marines.
My best regards.

Gotta love that Irish tan :) I like your composition here, including the red bench aswell. The depth of field is good, you chose f/10 well. Lovely colours and thanks for bringing us some balmy Irish weather.
Cheers, I hope your week is progressing well

A very fun photo, with this amazing red bench (reminds me of my fishing boats), and a beautiful view off into the distance with this great sky and clouds! Some interesting notes too about the college where they teach Gaelic. Well seen, and makes for a great composition! Warm regards,

i went through your gallery, brian, and found a spectacular "story" about ireland, there... i think - you portray the country with full power of your heart... i particularly like how you used red in few of the photos, not only in this one, here....

Very good shot this one. I like very much the inclusion of the red bench, adds a very strong visual impact that grab our attentions and invited us in for a seat and after that, down the path toward the empty peace. The presence of the boys adds liveliness and enhances the composition. It allow us to imagine us being in their place. Good DoF. both foreground element and landscape are nice and sharp.

The red bench for sure is an attention grabber! Like the way you composed. The two bare backed guys are as critical to the compo as the red bench. Good work!

I like the stunningly red bench at the shore. It is so hard to understand why the beach is not more occupied. The picture was taken in July, but there are only two people. This could never be the case here where I am. I envy you, Brian. The scene is an absolute delight. A great red bench, an open ocean and the view, the photo is remarkably well composed. And the colours are well distributed to make the scene so wonderful.
With my very best wishes,
Have a great evening, Brian
