Photographer’s Note

Not the most original title, I know--I'm sure everyone who's been to this area has ripped off the title of Connemara's most famous song--but fitting. This was taken down the road from the famous Kylemore Abbey, and was probably the best light we had until the evening.

The Connemara region is a beautiful area, but rather remote, as it is tucked away in a corner of western Ireland. The area is dominated by the Twelve Bens (or Twelve Pins) mountain range, with numerous lakes and relatively few people. It's about a two-hour drive from the city of Galway to get to this spot, but there are plenty of beautiful mountains along the way, many of them much more rugged.

This shot is straight out of the camera, other than sharpening and resizing. I may do a repost eventually, but for now I wanted to share something from Ireland.
