Photographer’s Note

View on Mount Errigal from R251 road. This wonderful mountain is one of the summits of Derryveagh Mountains. At 752 meters height, it is the highest point of Donegal. When you see the mountain far away, it looks white. This is not because of snow of course, but because of quartzite on the summit. Climbing the mountain is one of the must do in the area ... but I was not very brave and didn't do it ! There are two ways to reach the top of the mountain. The easiest goes on the south-east side of the mountain and starts on R251 road, a few kilometers after Dunlewy coming from Gweedore. It takes about 5 kilometers and 2 hours walk to reach the top.

I love road pictures and this one is really nice, with the road leading our eyes to that Mount in the background!
The picture has natural colors and great sharpness! The POV is excellent as well!

Hello Olivier,
Mount Errigal must be the most impressive mountain in Ireland IMO. You have used the yellow line as a good lead into the shot. I would have used a grey Grad filter to extract more detail and contrast from the sky and mount. Hope you had a great time visiting Donegal. Well done.

encore une route. J'aime vraiment l'utilisation photographique que tu fais de ces rubans d'asphalte que j'ai au contraire tendance à occulter le plus possible...

Superbe perspective créée par la route, avec une ambiance "road-trip" très loin de me déplaire !

ma montagne favorite en irlande ! j'ai jamais eu le temps d'aller en haut hélas mais j'espère un jour y retourner pour le tenter. d'après ce que j'ai vu ça a l'air superbe !
sinon j'ai été super étonné de la qualité de la route qui pour une route locale est de bien meilleure qualité que certaines nationales (notamment dans le connemara !)
Pour la photo rien à redire même si un petit test au milieu de la route aurait été sympa mais en été je pense qu'il doit y avoir des voitures assez souvent !
