Photographer’s Note

Hi Guys,

We've had a long weekend in Ireland in the last three days, so it was a good time to travel a bit further than usually. I was hoping to go up the North and explore famous land of Donegal. My TE friend Mariusz was of the same opinion, so Donegal here we come!

This picture was taken on the Stocker Strand, Portsalon. The site extends between Portsalon Pier and Saldanha Head. It encompasses the dunes, beach and adjacent waters of Ballymastocker Bay. It is located in an area of outstanding wildlife habitat and landscape quality. The site is divided into three distinct zones by two streams that flow across the beach.

You will notice that it really is a beautiful place. Although the sunshine adds a lot - colours are more vivid and bright. If you ever get a chance - please visit this area. Wonderfull for a walk, picnic or any other outdoor activity.

The 50/50 rule here was deliberate on this photo.

Dariusz, good evening.
Lovely picture, Rules are made to be broken, the 50/50 works well, it gives a good impression of the size of the beach, all very sharp. Nice to see what a D80 can do, I must make more effort with mine.

Fantastycznie zachowana równowaga między niebem a ziemią. Do tego układ chmur daje wrażenie perspektywy zbieżnej. Dla mnie wygląda to "smacznie" :-)

no prosze troche wolnego i jakie extra fotki nam tu prezentujesz. Ale ja tez nie proznowalem:) ladna plaza Darku w symetrycznej kompozycji, piekne niebo i kolor piasku. Dobra robota.

witaj Darek, Plaża rzeczywiście imponująca, to znaczy taki zalany teren. To odpływ, czy przypływ? Znakomita perspektywa i ostrość, widać daleko jakieś miasteczko ma wzgórzu, a ci ludzie to na rowerku tak jadą? Fajne kolory.

powiedzialbym ze wreszcie nie musisz robic czegos z niczego ale oprocz doskonalej formy masz rowniez spektakularna tresc.
Chce przez to powiedziec ze to miejsce rzeczywiscie jest nieprawdopodobnie piekne i niewykluczone ze i ja cos stamtad dorzuce.
Praca po prostu doskonala i zaczyna mnie to martwic poniewaz czesto soby ktore osiagaja wysoki poziom wkrotce z tego forum znikaja...
Kolory udalo Ci sie wypracowac doskonale. Bardzo podoba mi sie wykonanie, szeroka perspektywa, piekna kompozycja. Pokazuje swietnie ogromna przestrzen, nieskazitelnosc plazy.
Super chmury dobrze podkreslone polaryzatorem.
Po prostu nic dodac nic ujac.

A nice perpective of this beach meeting the sky and thus creating a picture divided in two with such different colors.
Sharpness and exposure are excellent and lighting is fabulous!

Hi Dariusz,

Very interesting work, great depth made by the textures in front over the sandy beach and they look great in contrast to that deep blue sky. Those people add life and a good focal point in the image, but also those clouds make the whole composition complete.
Excellent piece of work, i like this one a lot.

Ładnie ale za wąsko, za wąsko... Żartowałem! :)
Technika wykonania zdjęcia perfekcyjna, kolory i ostrość z najwyższej półki.
No ale kompozycja tutaj po prostu rządzi!
Dobre wykorzystanie odbić chmur w wodzie.
Bardzo minimalistyczne a jest na co popatrzeć.
i jest co podziwiać.

Well done my friend, I love it! The colour of the sand is a perfect match to that superb sky and those small figures give the sense of how large is this beach. A masterpiece of this genre and surely one of my favourite.
