Photographer’s Note

This is the River Finn which divides the twin towns of Ballybofey (Bealach Feich) and Stranorlar (Stranurla) in County Donegal, Ireland. This particular shot was taken from Drumboe Woods, Stranorlar.

The river is 40 miles long having its source in Lough Finn and the beautiful mountains surrounding. It's famous for it's salmon fishing, some people paying up to EU500 per day to fish there. Further up the river towards Killygordon there's a place called the Salmon Leap where you can watch the amazing sight of salmon spawning in the summertime.

The nets you can see to the right of the photo are the present grounds of the County Donegal Gaelic Football Team.
