Photographer's Note

This is another shot from the trip to Donegal.
Because the previous presentation was a strong HDR, I decided for a change to upload a natural “unmodified” photo this time.
It was taken at the Stocker Strand, Portsalon (Fanad Peninsula). According to Wikipedia, and I know that some people do not trust it but I do, this beach was chosen as a second most beautiful beach in the world by the Observer (British newspaper). I can see where this idea comes from. The beaches in Donegal, similarly to beaches in the rest of Irish west coast are jaw-dropping indeed. The only and pretty important drawback is the weather…

Hi Mariusz,

Not sure about the ranking but definitely this beach is very pretty. The colour of the sand stand out here. Nice composition showing good details and light. The view is refreshing though I wonder why the beach is so empty. Thanks Mariusz :-)

;) Wlasnie na tych skalkach zrobilem ostatnio wrzucone zdjecie. Odrobina slonca czyni z tego kraju naprawde lakomy kasek dla turystow. Piekna sceneria a i kompozycja bez zarzutu. W sumie to i dobrze, ze te deszczowe chmury akurat nadciagnely nad ta plaze. Wyglada to duzo ciekawiej i dodaje troche dreszczyka. Piekne!

ladna plaza wyglada na dzika. Dobre miejsce wybrales na to ujecie, fajny pierwszy plan przypomina troche wydmy. Dobre swiatelko miales jak na tak zachmurzone niebo, kolorki rowniez bardzo naturalne. Swietna robota Mariuszu.

Hi Mariusz,
When I've been in Donegal last year, I was very surprised by the beauty of beaches in Donegal. I didn't see this one, but it looks very beautiful. The sand has a very nice colour and the view from the beach is just outstanding ! Well, if this one is the second most beautiful beach in the world, I think the first one is in Donegal too ! If you have the opportunity to go back to Donegal, I recommend you to go to Maghera Strand close to Ardara in the west of Donegal, the most beautiful beach I've ever seen !

rzeczywiscie piekna plaza. Co prawda dzika ale takich zakatkow czesto ludzie poszukuja. Delikatne kolory, jakby lekko pastelowe. Piekna przyroda.

Najladniejsza plaza mowisz, moze i tak, chociaz strasznie pochmurna jakas... Aaaaaaaa teraz widze, to Irlandia przeciez;) Ladna kompozycja, dobra jakosc foty, ciekawa kolorystyka, calosc jak najbardziej pozytywna,

Szczerze Ci napiszę, że nie podobają mi się przerysowane, przejaskrawione pseudo-HDR-y. Dobry obraz HDR to taki, na którym uchwycono rozpiętość tonalną sceny i który wcale nie wygląda jak koszmarki,które w opini wielu osób nim są(uwaga ogólna, a nie przytyk do Twoich zdjęć).
Popatrz choćby na prace Piotrka Czechowskiego czy Maćka Duczyńskiego. Tam nie widać zastosowania tej techniki, dzięki której scena przypomina to, co widziało oko, a czego niedoskonała matryca nie mogła zarejestrować na jednej klatce.

No, ale się wynurzyłam - ale wroćmy do sedna. Kraina piękna. Cieszę się, że postanowiłeś pokazać tę plażę taką, jaką jest. Zrobiłam jednak delikatną korektę poziomów, żeby dodać cieni(a przy okazji zwiększyć i kontrast). Patrz workshop. Mam nadzieję, że Ci się spodoba.
