And you get out of the grey, of the cold, of the sadness...
And Iceland becomes Hope...

Bonjour Stephane,
et oui, c'est la météo de l'Islande, mais je peux dire qu'en Belgique, on y est mieux préparés que en Europe méridionale.
Une région bien colorée, inévitable quand on trekke en Islande.
des lumières très difficiles, mais la beauté de l'endroit ressort malgré tout.
Continue surtout à en poster.

Hello Stéphane,
tu as dégainé au bon moment, la lumière est vraiment chouette. Je pense que j'essaierais un crop panoramique ici pour me débarasser du premier plan sombre qui prend beaucoup de place.

simple photo of this landscape view with a good management of the shadows.The area with the light in the upper part of the frame make a nice contrast with the whole photo.

The atmosphere conveys a very strong sense of desolation, the curves of the hills slightly silhouetted stimulates a brooding mood in contrast with the play of light. Nice shot, very pleasing one.

Ah! So it didn't rain for the entire trip! The narrow strip of light indicates the sunshine was fleeting. It does make an interesting composition. I was going to suggest cropping some off the bottom and then I noticed the WS (in fact my critique disappeared while I was looking at it and I had to start again!) I think the WS has gone a bit too far. Something in between the two would get my vote.

J'aime bien cette composition très sobre et qui concentre le regard sur la petit bande de lumière qui donne cette belle richesse de couleurs au centre.
Avec le teasing que tu nous fait, il va falloir dégainer la grosse artillerie derrière ;-)

Finally some warm in this story of Iceland. Some clarity and colors. Now, I can feel and touch the landscape. Now, I feel ready to explore it. It's interesting the way you present it, as if there was no pp envolved...it seems more natural and savage, more real.

Il est sympa, ce travelogue... Tu n'es pas comme les autres à essayer de nous séduire avec des jolies photos ; mais l'Islande doit avoir un climat dur et au début tu n'as pas eu beaucoup de chance avec le temps... Ici, le ciel est bleu mais la nature a l'air très austère et aride !
Je me demande vraiment où tu vas nous mener...
Tu taquines notre curiosité et je me demande combien d'humour il y a dans tout ça !

(PS : la "longue marche", j'ai essayé de lire la partie sur la Turquie mais si j'admire vraiment ce qu'il a fait, je trouve que ce monsieur a moins de talent pour écrire, il parle très peu des gens parce qu'il ne connait pas suffisament la langue et qu'il n'a pas d'interprète, bref (à mon humble avis) c'est un livre sur ses aventures et sa persistence mais je trouve qu'on n'apprend pas grand chose sur le pays et que le style est plutôt lourd - malgré tout, ce qu'il a fait est incroyable ! De toutes façons, en traversant tant de pays, il ne peut pas vraiment réussir à comprendre les différentes cultures ; j'aurais plutôt aimé voir ses photos ! :))))

le paysage de l'Islande est absolument fantastique, presque irréel, est un film d'un monde perdu.
Le jeu des ombres qui produisent les nuages, et la lumière du soleil qui entre timidement, nous offrent un joli effet graphique.

Salut Stephane! I once flew over Iceland on my way to the States or Canada, I cannot remember, and we had le grand bleu when looking down, it was simply incredible but ever after and before there was nothing but clouds and I can see the treasure in your photo with the tiny bit of sunshine moving over the grass and earth and that this was a real treat :))) It always needs some time to understand your photo work and when you begin to understand they are a real extra pleasure. Hard to describe but I like your minimal approach and that nothing disturbs but what we get is really meant. Something like that ... enjoy le weekend ... Barbara.

un jeu intéressant d'ombres et de lumières pour ce paysage islandais où le soleil fait une timide apparition. J'aime bien la version proposée en ws mais aussi la tienne qui donne plus de profondeur à l'image. Un bon rendu des couleurs naturelles!

Hi Stephane,

Iceland is definitive a land I have to visit in future. I red quit a lot of books from the Iceland’s noble prize winner for literature Haldor Laxness and his description of the land and its rich culture is just as fascinating as your picture.

C'est vrai que ce sont des moments vraiment incroyable quand tout s'éclaire tout d'un coup avec un rayon de soleil. Les reliefs prennent forme grâce aux ombres, les couleurs explosent comme si elles sortaient d'une cocotte minute. En une seconde on se trouve transporté dans un autre monde. Bravo, tu as parfaitement bien transmis cet instant magique où tout bascule.

This is one of the countries I surelly want to visit one day as it has something magic that makes want to go there.
Not only the colours, the sensation of wideness, the feeling of being in another world, don't know, but it surelly attracts me.
