Hello John,
You have really a wonderfull serie of photos of the black sand beach. This new one by its composition using the wildness of the nature (black sand, low clouds and the cliff) is sharing what I am looking like during my trek or hiking: space and wilderness.
Do you remember at what time in the day you took this photo? I am wondering if the lightning is good all the day in Iceland for photo. In 5 days, I will be there also.
I wish you a nice trip in USA and waiting to see your next travelogue.
Yves.

That basalt is impressive and the black sand beach is really very nice. I have seen black sand beaches in New Zealand and Tahiti and they really look strange as most of us are used to the bright white sands. Your seascape is fantastic with a great composition. Nice you included the rock outcrops in the background. Well done.
Me too, I have posted today a beach photo. Please have a look.

Hello John,
Very beautiful picture. I like specially your work on the colors and texture.
Your composition is very good too and make very well opposition between the rock on the left and the sky on the top right to your picture.
Congratulation and thanks for sharing !
Regards,
Damien.
Dramatic image, interesting color range and great composition. Almost everything here is making triangles (the stones, the slope, the sky, the water, the beach). What i like most is the two perspectives imposed by the basalt wall and the clouds whch are playing whith each other while remaining two distinct and very well separated plans.

Hello John!
That's a very impressive picture!
The dark colors (beach sand, basalt columns and clouds in the sky) give us a pretty threatening feeling!
The whitish rocky cliff on the left seems to be human cut! Very interesting!
TFS - Congratulations!

Hi John,
this is amazing; the perspective has created a stunning depth, with that dark cloudy sky adding that bit of dramatic feeling which is just beautiful. the Reynisdrangur on the right offer an important focal point, so we can start from the left where we can find stunning details on the columnar basalt and then move into the compo to discover the beautyful contrast offered by the black beach kissed by the water. The green on the rocks is very eye catching and it rapresents the only coloured part in the almost monochromatic colour of the picture. Beautiful job, I really like it.
Have a great time and take care,
Igor

Nice contrasting seascape. It looks like bits of coal wash up on the beach. The 12-24 does well.
Best regards,

John,
formidable, awesome! The composition with the white columnar basalt to the left contrasting with the black sand and dark grey sky is simply wonderful. The two rock towers in the background provide a very good balance to the otherwise dominant basalt wall.
I can almost smell the salty air, feel the breeze in my hair and hear the birds and crushing waves. The image is so realistic that it gives me for a fraction of a minute the impression to be there for real.
Have a good trip to the US!
Peter

Your Iceland gallery is fantastic. I like this overall grey tones, with little touches of color which just tell that it is not a B&W picture.
I think a place like this really needs a dark cloudy sky, rather than a clean blue one.

Hi John,
It's quiet from your side...tired of posting or busy with daily life?
There not many people here who can bring a whole serie from a certain location in high quality but you can. See this example, another great shot from Iceland in a well thought composition. Not just a quick snaphot, but one with balance and great light....i did not expect to see it different from your hand...great work of art.
