Beautiful composition for this picture ! A very special light of this night sun giving this aspect of quietness to the shot. The exposure is perfect and gives nice shapes contrasting with the water. This horse is very well placed in the frame.Very well done !

Beautiful lighting, catching the horse in near silhouette. I think I might have cropped a bit of the blue sky, which seems a bit at odds with the rest of the shot.

An amazing phenomenon well captured Frida! Nice, tranquil view and the horse is well positioned. I would crop some of the sky to leave only a narrow blue line, but it's just a personal preference...

No doubt that you do have a talent for 'capturing' Islandic horses. I like the pic of this one because of the composition. The fluffy, shapeless cloudscape above and the hard contrasts and silhouettes in the bottom works great. Very well done. The other great aspect is the light. I just returened from my first trip north of the artic circle (Lapland, Sweden) and I share your exitement about the light nights. The light is absolutely great for photography and very well exploited here.

Love the composition with the horse looking towards the sea as if he was lost in his thoughts. Have you tried a square format with a liss less blue sky, I think it would be nice too.

Beautiful creation of this "nordic" scene,
(you're always excellent in it),"cold" light, nice silhouette of the horse, I like the different parts in your shot: the foreground, then the silver water, the line of the hills, a line of the clouds going into a blue sky, which is for me not too much, no cropping !
A good note too !

Hi Frida! All of yours pics are full of some easy motion even they are static. You always have that third dimension, touch of art. It seems that you don't care about the perfection because your approach to the object is spontaneous. But result is great.
This horse is just great:-). Looks like he stand for the moment just for you. Nice light.

hello frida
this is a really nice photograph. there is a national geographic cover page with 3 boys and a horse that looks similar to this one. i just read your profile. you might be interested to read about a particular indian breed called "mahalwars" im not sure about the spelling. but they're desert horses. and this breed can be identified by the turn on their ears. they are not as big as the european breeds, infact they're quite small. their hooves are such that these horses can run faster than camels in the deserts. there is an ancient tradition of horse racing in some location in the rajasthani desert. you can look for it online.
