Photographer's Note

This is a turn on the road to Landmannalaugar, which can be reached only in summer. The road is gravel and is closed from late September until June.

Landmannalaugar (meaning the hot springs of the people of (the) land) is a region near the volcano Hekla in the Southern Highlands of Iceland.

The Landmannalaugar area is famous for its incredible natural beauty. The area consists of more geological elements than you can count, but more obvious are the rhyolite mountains and vast lava fields, rising up right by the mountain hut. The many mountains around come in all colors: pink, brown, green, yellow, blue, purple, black, white and more.

Hi Soni, nice photo. Good colors and composition. I like how you just didn't take a picture of the mountain, you added that sign to make it different.

Hello Soni,
The yellow and red sign has an almost surrealistic effect to this picture. It's also helps the composition a lot. Despite of the beauty of the mountains with their decorative pattern of brown and white, the picture could have become slightly dull with an empty foreground.

This is not the best landscape to capture in Landmannalaugar area, nevertheless your picture is still very interesting. Thanks to various points of appeal, as the yellow signs, the blue river and the white snow spots.

Hi Soni, your pics have often that kind of sense of humour I like a lot!
Great contrast between the elements,the round hills,the road, the sign, you show the everyday's Icelands and that is great.

Very nice composition. The signmakes a good contrast with the landscape which is so nordland typical
