Photographer’s Note

Tirdilmyri (Tirðilmýri), Iceland.

Standing on the far north of Iceland's coast watching the beautiful and rough landscape, I can imagine how the viking ships came from Scandinavia in to the fjords.
The Norse mythology, with it's ancient tribal touch, is filling the imaginary scene inside my head.

gorgeous landscape, the sky is just great, I adore stormy clouds, everything seems so dynamical! The sea is like liquide woter, and the light is so strange!

Well, this is just surreal. The sky looks like the beginning or maybe the ending of this world. I could imagine a sentece in the bible: then, God made the fjords.
You did a amazing job Christian, but one must say that there's not much you can do wrong about photographie in Iceland, isn't it.

Hi Christian,

I really like this .. the distant mountains are evocative .. the sky is beautiful with the sun through those clouds .. the silvery vast surface of the water is stunning .. beautiful and wonderful .. you top it off with this foreground grass .. all bent .. so I can feel the wind .. wonderful image.

Did you see any Ravens.
for me it's difficult to see this landscape without thinking of Hrafn Gunlaugsson and his films.
But inded a very nice photo. with good colors and excellet sharpness(maybe to much) have you sharpen it inPS?

Nice picture of a beautifull landscape, brilliant colors and sharp. The dramatic clouds gives an extra touch to the picture.

It's always difficult to shoot open empty areas like this, Christian, but this one is very successful because you have composed it well, and the exposure is perfect to take advantage of the mood created by this lovely light. Superb sharpness. Cheers . . . David

(PS: After posting my critique I noticed your note to Anders about perhaps over-doing the sharpening. I had to look hard to see evidence of that, but then noticed a very slight halo effect around the rocks in the foreground. However, as I said, I had to look hard, so you've only overdone it by a tiny amount. 10% less would have been perfect)
