Photographer’s Note

Tirdilmyri (Tirðilmýri).

North Iceland is a very isolated place with very few towns. The biggest of them Isafjordur (Ísafjarðar) has a long history and has for a long time been one of the largest fishing industry centres in Iceland. Its inhabitants is around 2800 and it is the capital of the Westfjords.

The view is from Tirdilmyri looking north towards the town Bolungarvík, which is about 13 km further north from Isafjordur.

This is an excellent photo of a seldom seen place. Your composition is great with nice sharpness and detail. The lighting and colors are fine with nice contrast formed by the areas in sun and shade.

Wonderful meditative vastness .. the feeling of wind in the foreground grass is great .. the silvery tone of the water wondrous .. the layers of land and water back to those timeless mountains is great .. beautiful image.

Hi Christian. Beautiful photo of this lovely place. You have made the most of excellent conditions with the reflections in the calm sea and just enough clouds to make the sky interesting. Well composed, the rocky foreshore gives you a lovely depth and you have great sharpness also. Thanks for sharing.

Incredible view. Very beautiful with the clouds so close over the snowy montains and the sun that shines on the mountain in the middle. The land in the foreground adds a lot. Very good light, contrast and colours. Good POV and composition. TFS

Very nice landscape with excellent foreground. I wonder how hot it can get in the summer here. Interesting to see that the mountain tops are like flat plateaus. Nice colors & atmosphere. Regards. Latiff.

Bel exemple de nature nordique.J'aime bien l'effet des nuages qui se développent au-dessus des montagnes tabulaires.
