Vatnajokull
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French] |
| Vatnajokull is the largest glacier of Europe. Its immense icecap of 8000 km² covers more than 7% from Iceland. Its thickness exceeds 1km at certain places. Of course, like all glaciers in the world, it is in retreat. At the beginning of the XXth century, it reached the sea. While being withdrawn, it left a glacial lagoon, Jokulsarlon, where large icebergs are detached from the glacial tongue and melt slowly in the lake. After several years, these molten icebergs succeed in passing the narrow channel which connects the lagoon to the sea and it is on the beach of black sand that they finish their life, driven back by the tide. superbe composition avec une magnifique profondeur de champ
Bonsoir France,
Très jolie composition accompagnée d'une note qui nous rappelle la triste réalité de l'état de notre planète...
Merci
Rodrigue
Superb seascape. It looks a little de-saturated? I love the lumps of ice on the shore - not for swimming in, I suppose? TFS. Regards, Paul.
Superbe endroit magnifiquement photographié.
Amicalement

Salut France,
Belle photo du Vatna (même si elle ressemble pas mal à celle faite par O. Grunewald - avec le glaçon).Dans tous les cas tu as une belle collection de photos d'Islande.
Bien amicalement.

Hi France,
August and it already looks cold over there...it appears like some very hard northern landscape, not a single green spot seen in the distance...pity the ice tends to melt...cheers, arturo
