Photographer’s Note
One of many photos of aurora borealis taken one autumn evening last month. The activity was very impressive when it finally started, but I had to wait for quite a long time. The northern lights were mainly green to pink, but I was also treated with the most intense blue northern lights I had ever seen. This photo was taken about 15 minutes before the most intense activity started, which lasted for about half an hour.
ISO was set to 400.

Superb Fredrik. I have always been facinated by the Northern Lights since I was a child. I never saw them until last year ane then they were only barely visible here in Ireland. This is a great shot. Very well exposed with very little noise.
Thanks for sharing.

Fredrik,
Living in Australia, I sure won't see one of these here. This shot is outstanding, a real treat to see. Can I ask you, how long does this last in the sky, and how quickly does it move? In all the moving pictures I have seen they mover very fast, but I asume that this is done on purpose. You have a very sharp, colourful and most mysterious image her, so well done!

Very good shot of Northern Lights, thanks again... I always wanted to see them! You are lucky of to have seen so many :-)
This is very difficult night shot, and you have done it very well.
